Mr. Donovan was widely known throughout Central Pennsylvania, first gaining fame with H. J. Bress. ler as the battery of the old Wii- liamsport baseball team in the Tri- State League. Donovan went di- rectly from Williamsport to the Philadelphia team. In later years he devoted his spare time to um- piring at public ball games As “Rube and Jerry” the former battery mates were for many years engaged in the cigar business at Williamsport.
