The Band Concert. The concert held in by our Boys Band last ening, was a numerical by having a full house, second finan- cially. But on account of a show in Bellefonte and the inclemency of the weather, not many folks from a dis- tance were present. But our towns folks showed their appreciation of the boys by filling up the hall, long be- fore the hour arrived for the concert Our Boys Band was organized March 21st, 1913, and took their first music lesson sometime in April. At that time some of these boys could not whistle a tune but now they can whis- tle, sing and play their parts to per- fection. They are not playing out- of-date music like “Old hundred” and many other such pieces, but up-to- date music. The following list will show some of the pieces they played Saturday evening: March—"Fort Gay”; characteristic march and two step,—"“Our Jolly Boys Band,” Peggy Waltzes, U. S. N. March, Cornet duet by Dallas Bullock and Russell Miles, Medley Overture—"Yankey Hash; march and two step maiinee, Nation- al Emblems: Overture—"Golden Cres- sent.” “Eves of Brown,"-—Schottische; Serenade Moonbeams; Magneta ture: “Marching Through Georgia” by special request; Sylvan Echoes Echo yuartet; Charge to Victory and the regular closing “Star Span- gled Banner.” Several times the dem- onstration did not until the were compelled to repeat a portion the music just played.
