Thursday, Sept. 25, Wagner, a former member of 7th Pa, Cavalry died at his Rosecrans, aged 73 years, He during the entire civil war having enlisted in 1861. At the time of his death he was postmaster at Roosecrans and also kept a store The funeral took place Sunday, Sep- tember 28th, from the Salona Luth- eran church, Rev, Ross, officiating. In the death of Charles W Cook, which sad event occurred in the Lock Haven hospital Wednesday morning, October 1st, Beech Creek lost one of its best known citizens Death was due to typhoid fever. He was aged 40 years and is survived by a wife and daughter. Mr. Cooke was the agent for the International Harv- ester Company of America and did a lucrative business In Clinton and Centre counties. Having thus form- ed a large acquaintance he was the chosen leader of the Democratic party in the western section of the county and used his influence during political campaigns in behalf of Democratic candidates. He was a member of the Disciple church, an Odd Fellow, Son of America and served as collector for the Sugar Valley Mutual Fire Insur- ance Company.
