On Monday a civil case was tried before Squire Brown, In which Peter Mendis brought sult against Walter CC. Miller, formerly tenant on Mr Mendis’ farm. The plaintiff claimed that he should have been paid for four tons of hay that was due him when Mr. Miller left his farm. He also asked payment for glass broken in the farm house, currant bushes de- stroyed, lime and coal hauled on the farm and never used, dinner bell, iron kettle and butcher knife removed from the premises.
