Operations on the immense timber
tract of the Walker estate, at the east
part of the valley, will begin in the
spring. The timber will be taken to
Union county; the logs will be cut and
transported by trucks to the large mill
at Laurelton.

C. P. Long purchased the white pine
trees, from Jessie long on the Penn
Cave farm. Some of the trees measured
five feet across the stump. Ouoe of the
trees was one hundred and fifty feet
long.
