Howard. Quite a surprise was given Joseph Weirick Friday evening, at ms home. He is teaching school at Runville, and his sister, Sarah, invited a number of young people to spend the evening. On his arrival home he was met by a sur: prise, but he was equal to the occasion, | and soon had the usual games played. The games held full sway until 11 o'clock, when all proceeded to the din- | ing room where an elegant snpper was served, to which all did justice, The remaining part of the evening was spent in social conversation and with regrets they separated tor their homes, having thoroughly enjoyed themselves and wish- ing many more such evenings. Protracted meeting is now in progress in'the Ev. charch and the meetings are well attended.
