Mr It Editor : was stated in the Millheim items some time since that ‘it was strange Lhe borough schools were not a success,’ 'l fear this is ambiguous-—some of them were a success, But certainly too many parents allow their children on the street too much, and there is where they learn the mischief, rot in school, and then when they are in school only persist in annoying the teacher and other pupils The teacher and the directors bave a part to perform also. Last fall when one of the teachers asked permission to attend a wedding one dav, and even had a supply through a director, they refus- ed to let her go, (we're sure the directors are all married) and censured her se- verely for going; then later admitted that they were wrong. But, of course, the innocent always bears the blame. The principal missed his moving day and didn't even try to secure a supply, and the directors never guess they were all invited to dinner, Now directors this was not fair: I used to | be a director, also a teacher. Many times have we seen three of the teachers on the street 10 to 20 minutes after schoo! time; but this can positively not be said of Miss Flora Duck; she was al- ways at her post of duty and we all glad. | ly and truthially say that she is a No. 1 | instructor, her equal might be had, but i So, directors, | we have experimented. try to get what you know is genuine. | We will be very glad to have ber among Mingoville.
