Newt Kling, of Altoona, is vis- iting her parents, at this place, Mrs. B. F. VYonada and daughter Lulu, attended the funeral of Mrs, Vonada's aunt, Mrs. Rossman, of Penn Cave, last week, Mrs. M. S. Betz is on the sick list. E. Frank Frain, who has been on the sick list, is able to be around again. Oscar Harris, of Nittany, accompanied by Miss Cordelia Tranzue, of Mackey- ville, were the guests of the Misses Lulu and Kathryn Vonada. Misses Emma Smith and Sue Miller, of Lock Haven, attended the funeral of John Spayd, on Sunday. Perce Kling and wife, of Altoona, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Kling, last week. Mrs. W. P. Lucas, of Howard, visited her brother Jacob Orndorf, last week. Died of typhoid fever, Thursday morn- ing Oct, 18, at the home of his brother Alvert, in Walker twp., John Nevin Spayd, aged 29 y, 10 mo, 1 d. Deceased was born in Lamar twp., Clinton county, Dec. 17, 1870. He contracted typhoid fever at Sugarvalley, where he was en- gaged in sawing. He was an industrious and prosperous young man, and for several years past was engaged in the work of operating a saw mill, having owned the mill where he was working when he contracted the fever, Deceased was of an amiable disposition which won him many friends. The funeral place at Jacksonville on Sunday after- noon, in the Reformed church, of which he had been a member.
