Arthur Bathurst and Alonza Schenck left for Altoona a few days ago. Miles Ertle left for Altoona a few days ago, where he has secured a job. Emery Walizer returned on Monday, after a six week's tour through the state. J. L. DeHaas, proprietor of the Syra- cuse House, is improving the same oy papering it. Rev. We hope that his ministry here may be productive of much good. Miss Mittie Lucas returned home last week from Baltimore with an extremely interesting line of spring and summer millinery. Her opening days were on Friday and Saturday and a great crowd took advantage of this opportunity to view this elegant line of trimmed milli- nery. Henry Daughenbaugh, aged 63 years, died on Tuesday April 11th, at 3 p.m, after an illness of several months, He is survived by two sisters, two brothers and four daughters as follows : Sadie, Washington and Thomas, all of Howard.
