Horner. Every one is cordially invited to attend. By what the correspondent can under stand, James Mackey, of Spring Creek, carries the championship for raising big corn. He raised one stalk 13 ieet bigh with three ears, each ear having 14 rows of grains, and measure respectively 12, 14 and 16 inches in length, with a medi. um sized field pumpkin in the top of the stalk. James is a good farmer and comes out on top every time, On Friday night of last week a jolly crowd of calathumpians met at the toll gate along the Boalsburg pike for the purpose of serenading R. A, Miller and wife who were located at that place. The music commenced about 8:30 0'clock and about g o'clock the bride and groom made their appearance at the door, after which a treat was given to the noisy boys. Congratulations were tendered to the young married couple. From there the crowd went to Spring Creek, at the residence of A. G. Kuhns, where they found Mr. John E. Kuhn and wife and gave the same music as before.
