The subject of this sketch is one of Belle-
foute’s prominent young men, who is well |
known and highly esteemed Hugh Stew-
ard Taylor. He was born in Bellefonte,
January 12,1868, In 1886 was graduated
from the Bellefonte High school. Spent
two years, from 1890-92 at Penna. State
College, entered the law offices of Orris
Bower & Orvis at once as a law student
and in 1594 was admitted to the practice
of law. In February 1894 Mr. Taylor
was elected Tax Collector, in this bor.

On Monday February 220d the pupils
