When opposite the new church, and not paying any attention ahead, watching the men working on the building, he collided with little Ray Baird, who was playing with a toy par- achute. When the collision occurred the bike and rider flew to one side of the street and the boy and parachute to he other side. Gilbert picked himself 1p as gracefully as possible and then vent to the assistance of the little boy, vhom he found badly scared but un- purt. The Lutheran and Reformed Sunday schools, of Boalsburg, held a basket pic- nic at Shingletown last Saturday, during which a missionary from Africa made an excellent address. After dinner a game of base ball was played between picked nines. Lonberger did the whirling for one side, while Dudey pitched for the other. The star play was a home run made by *‘Sorley’’ on three strikes. At the end of the third inning, with the score 3 and 4 in favor of Dudey, the game was called. The umpire also made some very rank decisions, which of course had to be taken, as Eddie is right on to the biz.
