A Butcher's Fatal Confldeace, St. Pavi, Mion., July 24.—The re- | port comes from Hutchinson, in this State, that several persons have died there suddenly, and that the people feared an epidemic. An investigation shows that the victims had been eating pickled beef containiog poison. The butcher protested he bad never sold poisoned meat, and to prove the asser- . ! tion gave some to his children, who quickly died. The above is current on the streets of neighboring towns, and it is said that the excitement in Hutch- inson russ high because the man gave his children meat which was suspected of vem taining poison. m——— s Col. D. H. ~The following i Hast tings speech delivered at the close of | Camp Murray, at Rosring Springs, as lakes from the Altoona Time. My Frinxos: I would say to the good people of this town sad valley, that the cordial, hearty and magnificent reception given this regiment has been properly appreciated by every member of the regiment, While many induce- ments had been given us to encamp elsewhere, the generous citizens of Roaring Spring and vicinity brought us to the beautiful grove, showed us the many advantages of the location and then said, you shall occupy it free. With my accustomed modesty | asked if they could furnish an engine to pump water, and ice and wood for camp pur, poses. All were granted, We would have asked for more, but we dide’y have the “cheek,” and now feel satisfi- ed they would have given it. 1 am now sorry we did not have more “cheek.” i ments in a few days “I intent to begin making « 1 he bar got now would kill me, and i I shall study the currin perimenting on 8 Dew ans one, | fully and make thorough expe | A barrel or cask will be sent over «veg n { day for a given length of time and ij two out of three are picked within reasonable time | will chances.” rn | PP EGISTERS NOTICE.—The fol- Llowing acecounts have been exaniined, | passed, and remain filed of record in the | Register’s office for the inspection of heirs and legatees, creditors and all others anywise interested, and will be presented { to the Orphans’ Court of Centre county, on Wednesday, the 2{ day of August, A D. 1886, for allowance and confirmins Vion. 1.
