HEADACHE is the favorite SIGN by which nature makes known any deviation whatever from the natural state of the brain, and viewed in this ; light it may be looked on as a safeguard intended to give notice of disease which might other vise escape attention, till too late to be remedied ; anc ; its indications should never be neglected. Eed- I aches may be classified under two names, viz : Symptomatic and Idiophatio. Symptomatic Head- : ache is exceedingly common and is the precursor j of a great variety of diseases, among which are Apoplexy, Gout, Rheumatism and all febrile dis eases. Iu its nervous form it is sympathetic of diseases of the stomach constituting tick head ache, of hepathic disease constituting bilious head ache, of worms, constipation and other disorders of the bowels, as well as renal and uterine affec tions. Diseasns of the heart are very frequently attended with Headaches ; Anaemia and plethora ! are also affections which frequently occasion head- i ache. Idiopathic Headache is also very common, ' beiDg usually distinguished by the name of tier- I tout "headache, sometimes coming on suddenly in j a state of apparently sound health and prostrat- i ing at oiu-e the mental and physical energies, and I in other instances it comes on slowly, heralded by j depression of spirits or acerbity of temper. In most instances the paiD ia in the front of the head, I over one or both eyes, and sometimes provoking } vomiting ; under this class may also be named Neuralgia For the treatment of either class of Headache ! the Cephalic Pills hare been found a sure and ! safe remedy, relieving the most acute pains in a few minutes, and by its subtle power eradicating the dis ase of which Headache is tne unerring in dex. BRIDGET. —Missus wants you to send her a box of Cephalic Glue, no, a bottle of Prepared Pills,— but I'm thiuking that's not just it naither ; but perhaps ye'U be afther knowing what it is. Ye see she's nigh dead and gone with the Sick Head ache, and wants s'orne more of that same as reliev ed her before. Druggist. —You mast mean Spalding's Cephalic Pills. Bridget. —Och ! suro now and you've sed it, hero's the qnarther and give mc the Pill- and don't he all day about it aither. CONSTIPATION OR COSTIVENESS. No one of the " many ills flesh is heir to" is so prevalent, so little understood, and so much ne glected as Costiveness. Often originating in care lessness, or sedentary habits ; it is regarded as a slight disorder of too little consequence to excite anxiety, while in reality it is the precursor and companion of many of the most fatal and danger ous diseases, and unless early eradicated it will bring the sufferer to an untimely grave. Among the lighter evils of which costiveness is the usual attendant are Headache, Colic, Rheumatism, Foul Breath, Piles and others of like nature, while a long train of frightful diseases, such as MalignaDt Fevers Abcesses, Dysentery, Hi irrhoea, Dyspep • sia, Apoplexy, Epilepsy, Paralysis, Hysteria, Hypochondriasis, Melancholy and Insauity, first indicate their presence in the system by this alarming symptom, Not unfrequently the dis eases named originate in Constipation, but take on an independent existence unless the ease is erad icated in an early .-tage. From all these consid erations it follows that the disorder should reef ive immediate attention whenever it occurs, and on the first appearance of the complaint, as their timely use will expel the insiduous approaches of di sea tides troy this dangerous foe to human life, A REAL BLESSING. Physician. —Well, Mrs, Jones, how iB that head-. ache'! Mrs. Jones. Gone ! Doctor, all gone ! the pill you sent cured me in just twenty minutes, and I wish you would send me more so that I can have them handy. Phytician. —You can got them at any Druggists. Call fur Cephalic Pills, I find they never fail, and 1 recommend tbem'in all cases of Headache, Mrs. Jones. — I shall send for a box directly, and shall tell ftlf lay suffering f/iends, for they are a real blessing. TWENTY MILLIONS OP DOLLARS SAVED. —Mr. Spalding has sold two millions of bottles of his celebrated Prepared Glue and it is estimated that each bottle sav.s at lea3t ten dollars werth ot broken furniture, thus milking an aggregate ef twenty millions of dollars reolaimad from total loss by this valuable invention. Having made his Glue a h< usehold word, he now proposes to do the world still greater service by curing all the ach ing beads with his Cephalic Pills, and if they are as good as his Glue, Headaches will soon vanish away like snow in July, FACTS W!RTN KNOWING, —Spalding's Cephalic Pills are a eertai cure for Sick Headache, Bili ous Headache, Nervous Headache, Costiveness nd General Debility. CURE j ! CAJR CURE "O ! Nervous Headache By the use of the Pills the periodic attacks oj Nervous or SitkHeadache may be prevented: and if taken at the commencement of an attack imme diate relief from pain and sickness will be obt in ert. They seldom fail in removing the Nausea and Headache to which female are so subject. They act gently upon the bowels, —removing Costiveness For Literary Men, Students, Delicate Females, and all persons of sedentary habits, they are valu i able as a Laxative, improving the -apdetite, giring | tone snd vigor to the] digestive organs, and restor ing the natural elasticity and strength of the whole system. The CEPHILTC PILLS are the rerult of long investigation and carefully conducted experiments having been in use many years, daring which time they have prevented and relieved a vast amount of pain and sufforing from Headache, whether originating in the nervous system or from a de ranged state of the stomach. They are entirely vegetable in their composi tion, and may be taken at #ll times with perfect safety without making any cbango c f diet, and the absenee of any kisayreeable taste renders it easy to administer them to children. Sanctioned by the highest Medical Authorities, both in Europe and the Uni ted States, and perscribed in their practice. The experience of thousands daily proveß that no preparatien of Iron can be compared with it. Impurities of the blood, depression of vital ener gy, pale and otherwise sickly complexion indi cate its necessity in almost every conceivable case. Innoxious in all maladies in which it has been tried, it ha proved absolutely curative in each of the following complaints, viz : In Debility, Nervous Affections, Emanciation, Dyspepsia, Constipation, Diarrhoea, Dysente.y, -In cipient consumption, Scrofulous Tuberculosis, Salt Rheum, Misinensiruation, Whites, Chlorosis, Liver Complaints, Chronic Headaches, Rheumatism, In termittent Fexers, Pimples on the Face, &c. In cases of GENERAL DEBILITY, whether the re sult of acute disease, or of the continued diminu tion of nerYons and muscular energy from chronic complaints, one trial of this restorative has prov ed successful to an extent which a description nor • written attestation would render ciedible. Inva- j lids so long bed-ridden as to have become forgot- | ten in their own neighborhf ods, have suddenly ! rft-appeared in the busy world as if just returned j from protracted travel in a distant land. Some j very signal instances of this kind are attested of ; female Sufferers, emaciated victims of apparent ! marasmus, sanguineous exhaustion, critical chan- i ges, and that complication of nervous and dys peptic aversion to air and exercise for which the j phvsician has no name. In NEKTOCS AFFECTIONS of all kinds, and for J reasons familiar to medical men, the operation of ; this preparation of iron must necessarily be salu tary, for, UDlike the old oxides, it is vigorously tonic, without being exciting and overheating ; and gently, regularly aperient, even in the most obstinate cases of costivehess without ever being a gastric purgative, or inflicting a disagreeable sensation. It is this latter property, among others which makes it so remarkably effectual and permanent a remedy for Piles, upon which it also appears to exert a distinct and specific action, by dispersing the local tendency which forms them. In DYSPEPSIA, innumerable as are its causes, a single box of these Chalybeate Pills has often suf ficed for the most habitual cases, including the attendant Costiveness. In unchecked DIARRHOEA, even when advanced to DYSENTERV, confirmed, emaciating, and appa rently malignan',. the effects have been equally decisive and astonishing. In the local pains, loss of flesh and strength,de bilitating cough, and remittent hectic, which gen eral'y indicate INCIPIENT CONSUMPTION, this reme dy has allayed the alarm of friends and physi cians, in several very gratifying and interesting instances. In SCROFULOUS TUBERCULOSIS, this medicated iron has had far more than the good effect of the most cautiously balan red preparations of iodine, without any of their well known liabilities. The attention of females cannot be too conti dently invited to this remedy and restorative the cases peculiarly affecting them. In RHEUMATISM, both chronic and infiamntory— in the latter, however, more decidedly—it ha been invariably well reported, both as alleviating pain and reducing the swellings and stiffness the joints and muscles. In INTERMITTENT FEVERS it must certainly be great remedy and energetic restorative, and progress in the new settlements of the Wost, will probably be one of high renown and usefulness. No remedy has ever been discovered in the whole history of medicine, which exerts such prompt, happy, and fuliy restorative effects. — Good appetite, complete d igestion, rapid acquisi tion of strength, with an unusual disposition for active and cheerful exercise, immediately follow its use. Put up in neat flat boxes containing 50 pills, price 50 cents per box ; for sale by druggists and dealers. "Will be sent free to any addross on re ceipt of the price. A WORD TO THE PUBLIC. - Whereas the Spring Creek Woolen Manufactory, during the present season, has been patronized to the full extent of its producing abilities, and in anticipation of a still grjater patronage the coming season, the proprietors have been induced to add more new machinery of the very latest improvements. This machinery will facilitate our operations very much and at the same time will improve the real value of out cloths at least ten per cent., while our pri ces shall remain as heretofore; it being our ambi tion to build up a reputation for this establish ment that will add all things thereto. FrGm the facts here n set forth we confidently believe that wool growers and all other gcod people can now deal with us very much to their own advantage.-- While there are many things alike in business of this kind, there is also much that is different. A word to the wise is sufficient Give us a call and satisfy yourselves that this is the place the peo pie get the worth of their money. ROBT. KENDALL, SAM'L HOUSER. Benner twp., June 12, '6O, tf.
