of the nrofcselenal trailers, the trend
of today s stock market wax again dis
tinctly upward. I'oel activities were in
evidence In many parts of the list,
which accounted for the constant shift
ing of leadership. It was largely an
industrial affair, as the operations in
the railroads were virtually limited te
the low-priced Issues.
Overnight developments were some
what mixed in their Influences. Jokers
concealed in the bonus bill, while ap
pearing disturbing en the surface', did
net cause much commotion because of
the sensible recognition of the fact that
the bill, In no matter what form It Is
adopted, has still a long and tedious
journey te make before it actually be
comes a law. Little attention was like
wise given te the private advices of
nnether of the occasionally speculative
panics in the Flowery Kingdom, in
volving this time the collapse of the
comer in rice. The sharp drop in the
Federal Reserve ratios of reserve and
a fairly large increase in note circulation
were enen te different Interpretations.

gar. Seuth Perte Rice and Continental
Can. Investment rails rose only frac
tionally, but secondary .harcf, notably

points respectively.

ing the morning, but the market

the multiplying list of collapsing brok
erage houses. In the first place, the
local financial community was pre
pared, the unhappy event having
been expected for some time. It is un
