Michael J. ttvan and Snmuel V Herman, attorneys for Ambler, argued for nearly an hour on fie points in support of a motion to qunh the in dictments. Assistant District Attorney Tnulane, opposing said Ambler's counsel "lacked legal sufficiency" In their reasoning and covered virtually the same Rround covered in nrsuments before Judge Martin recently, who dismissed a mo tion to quash. Judge Henry reserved decision. Rep resentatives of the district attorney's office characterized Ambler's mmc as "an eleventh-hour attempt to block the trial next Tuesday." There uru three indictments against the former Insurance commissioner. One charges embezzlement as rei elver, agent and attorney of funds of the Pittsburgh Life and Trust Co. ; another charges embezzlement as agent and attorney of the same corporation; the third, unlaw ful conversion of funds as insurance commissioner. Criminal action was begun against Ambler when the bank probe disclosed that funds held by him as receiver for the Pittsburgh company had been de posited in the North Penn Hank.
