THE recently completed drill shed for the First
Squadron, State Troops, at 32d and Lancaster
Ave., is an exceedingly interesting example of a
building roofed in fullest accord with its peculiar
requirements, due to location and character.
The long slope of roof surface must be impervious lo fire
from without, to prevent panic and probable loss of life to terror
stricken horses. It must be acid-proof, resisting deterioration
from stable fumes arising from within.
Consultation resulted in this addition to the Armory being
roofed with Carey Asbestos-Asphalt Built-up Roofing, covered
by a surety bond, laid in "The American Way."
With the periodic care that any roof should receive, this
roof will last indefinitely. The records of durability of Carey
Roofings are actually astonishing.
