HEYWOOD-WAKEFIELD Perfektene Phonograph Philadelphia Atlantic City 1723 Chestnut St 517 Boardwalk vm PI e Pepping at the BETTER SHOPS NEVER WERE MORE EMPHATIC BARGAINS TO BE HAD THAN AT THE PRESENT TIME, ESPE CIALLY IF ONE HAS, LIKE PAULETTE, A BIT OF INSIDE SHOPPING INFORMATION. MENTIONING PAULETTE'S NAME AT THE SHOP ASSURES YOU ADDITIONAL COURTESY. Let me tell you of B. F. Deweea' Gift Shep at 1122 Chestnut street. This shop has conceived the clever idea of a gift shop upon their second fleer, a shop where they have gathered from all departments of the larger shop attractive urticlcs which range in price from 50c te $5. Here one clerk waits upon you for nil you buy and you receive one check this saves time. There ero tee many fascinating things te mention and most of them have been repriced te the public's advantage. Beau tiful shellacked Chinese baskets arc less a third and sometimes a half mere than their regular prices. Levely little dressing tabic accessories covered in rese or silk brocade arc surprisingly low in price. A brocade picture frame is $1.50, a large pincushion but $1, a large silk brecade box of hairpins $1.25. De net forget te take a peep at some dainty satin bedroom slippers at $2.95. But the whole little shop is exceptional I It is overflowing with gift suggestions. The hosiery and underwear departments of that depend able shop of Geerge Allen's at 1214 Chestnut street are particularly Interesting just new, and I've found some perfect plums of bargains. Smart woolen stockings which were $2.50 are new $1.85; another special grade of woolen stocking is $2.45 instead of $3.60, and a nifty English woolen sports stocking specially priced is $2.45. Seme really lovely silk stockings worth, respectively, $2.25 and $2.50, are new $1.46. The $2.50 quality has some almost imperceptible irregularities, none of which is nn imperfection. Seme splendid Kayscr underwear has been reduced a third. A $10 union suit of ribbed Bilk is new $G.50, and another $10 model of all-wool is also $6.60, while a silk-topped vest formerly selling for $3.65 Is new $2. These arc but a very few of the very tempting bargains in both departments. Just new Theodere Siofert's establishment nt 1426 Walnut street, one of my few favorite fur shops, has some delightful fur garments and smaller furs at special prc-Chrlstmas prices. I was particularly interested in the moles and silver Siberian squirrels, both because of their beauty and because of their reduced prices. Among them arc capes, dolmans, coats, scarfs and muffs. There arc stunning mole and squirrel scarfs nt $50 up though the values begin at $65, and mole muffs are priced at $40 up instead of $56 and silver squirrel muffs nre $60 up instead of the usual $75. A gorgeous bargain for some lucky person is a full length cape of dark gray mole having one of the new inset shoulder capes of gray squirrel. Its pre-Christmas price is $650 instead of $900. These are but a few of the inviting Christmas bargains prevailing in all furs this week throughout this shop which has se high a reputation for integrity. Just new that little Vanity Shep at 1305 Walnut street has "become a veritable rendezvous for gift seekers. This shop keeps that exclusive Vanity Fair lingerie. Then, besides, there arc delightful hand-made things. Fancy a handmade set of chemise-vest and petticoat-panties fashioned in luscious white silk straight from Burma. The same needlewoman has created (no ether word will de) some cxqulsite handkerchiefs from linen she person ally brought from Ireland and the lovely edging upon them traveled all the way from Paraguay. They are $3.60 each. Plain, narrow-hemmed ones of indescribable daintiness, marked with a single Initial te order, can be obtalned for $9 a half-dozen. The Lllla Gewn Shep and the Vanity Shep of lingerie, handkerchiefs and de lightful ChriBtmas cards are in one, you knew, at 1805 Walnut Just new Lllla Is having some emphatic bar gains in frocks.
