Thornton Oakley is going to hove nn exhibition and give a talk on il lustrating. And Thornton does known illustration from A to Z, I'll say. lie camo here from Pittsburgh- with' Ills mother, Mrs. John Oakley, about twenty years ago. aud everybody likes him. T SAW Mrs. Tom Ashton nt the Mon- JL day morning musicale yesterday wearing an extremely smart frock and hat. She had a top coat of fur, which she had thrown back, and her dress wns of dark-blue tncotine, cmuroiucreu in black, nnd made rather long waistrd, with u narrow black satin girdle. Her hat was a small close-fitting blue toque, the entire crown being covered with terra eottn nigrettcs. It was ex tremely fetching and very becoming. She always dresses in such very good taste, and I am glad to sec that Anne, her daughter, who will be a debutante next season, has much the same good taste. I HEAR that the women on tho board of the Stetson Hospital are expect ing great things from their annual con cert which Is to be held tonight nt Stetson Hall, and Stokowskl will direct. Estcllo Hughes, who won the Stokowskl medal in the competition last spring, will sing. And, by tho way, I hear that so much is thought of her work she Is to take part in one of the orchestra concerts at tho Academy later in tho season. There is one beauty nbout these an nual concerts besides tho helping in the good work of the hospital, they givo people a chance to hear the orchestra at popular prices. The auditorium, which is at Fifth street and Mont gomery avenue, seats 5000 persons, you know. DIDN'T- you think that Galli-Curci's frock was lovely estcrday at the concert? It was of the palest orchid shade of satin nnd was draped rather full from waist to knees, where it was drawn in toward the back to a long panel train, which enmo from the waist down to about six inches on the iloor. The front of the bodice was n surplice of the satin, and the back and long sleeves of georgette crepo were cut in one, edged with dark fur, which came down on either side of the bodice from the shoulders and ended at the girdle. This one pieco of georgette was also divided into two long nngel sleeves. Her hat was neither small nor large, of orchid tulle with a narrow brim to match the frock.
