Last week saw several changes in the various leagues. In the ArtNan Lengue section "A" Oak Lane five forced the Jsorthwest out of the top position, sec tion "II" found a new leader with the 1'nderdown squad leading with n clean slate. During the remainder of the season this section will roll with but six teams. Kngraving five in the Curtis League by taking three games in a row while the Heck quintet dropped one, gave Kngraving first place iu the league, with a tie for second place between Beck, Color and Hojal teams. Moon, former congressman, who died suddenly in the Columbia Club Saturday night, will be .held Wednesday, The arrange ments have not been completed, Mr. Moon was seventy-two years old nnd apparently in good health. He had been in the club only a few minutes when ho suffered a stroke, of apoplexy. He was formerly president of the club. Mr. Moon was at one time chairman of the congressional committee that completed the great task of revising the laws of the United States. His last great work in Congress was helping to draft the employers' liability bill, a '"f-nsurc favored by I'resident Taft, in The former congressman llrorl n hn fBellevue-Stratford and had his law offices iu the Pennsylvania Building. He was descended from John Moon, one of the earliest Pennsylvania judges, who was appointed bv the king's com mission In 1084. This ancestor was one of tho original company of the ship elcome that arrived at the, shores of the Delaware two years earlier. Mr. Moon studied law under his father and' later took a college course. He was graduated in 1874 and for a time practiced law, then engaged suc cessively in commercial and literarv work and in 1875 became a member of the faculty of the National School of Oratory here. During his later life Mr. Moon took a prominent part in politics nnd was elected to Congress it; 1003 from the Fourth district. Ills work there was of a most iinportnnt character.
