The food ministry, in a statement Issued to day, declares that the plan nnnoimced last month to -spend 1,000,000,000 marks to lower the costs of foodstuffs h proving effective in reducing illicit trade, -which by October will probably have vanished. The government has been purchasing food in neutral countries and, to some extent, in former enemy countries, anu distributing it nt lower prices than heretofore obtained. After October the government hopes to turn Its atten tion to raw materials and create new opportunities for -industry. Berlin, Aug. 0. "Profiteer regula tion bureaus" are to be established throughout Prussia, according to a plan of the Prussian state commissioner of food. A regulation bureau will be estab lished in each city of more than 11)0,000 population, especially in large indus trial cities. The food minister has recommended that individual states adopt the plan in the interest of work men's nnd consumers' organizations. COAL BOARD FOR EUROPE Supreme Council Takes Action After Hearing Hoover - Paris, Aug. 0. (Ily A. P.) The supreme council, after hearing Herbert Hoover suggest control of coal to save Europe from disaster, decided to create a coal corporation committee - for Europe.
