Admiral Delbono, Minister of Marine, In nn Interview here today, declared that shipping losses as the result of U-boat operations In Mediterranean and Adriatic waters are only a tenth ot what they were last year. "Activity of tho enemy's U-boats In the Mediterranean and Adriatic has been greatly reduced, thanks to the brilliant achievements of the navy," tho admiral said. "Last year tho number of tor pedoed ships averaged 5 per cent. This year's average Is one-flfth of 1 per cent. "Italy sustained the heaviest losses during April, 1917, when seventeen steamers were sunk. Last April only three were lost. In May und June, lMii, twenty were sunk.
