The supply came principally from com mission, houses, 'Wall street and room traders, but prices had to be bid up to get the staple. In contrast with the business of Saturay the market was very active. About the only Incentive to the strength was the continued lack of moisture In the Southwest. This department was also authorized to fix 11 maximum price for milk delivered at the collecting stations, which has, from the ftiRt of the present month, been fixed nl 24I3 e.-ntimes (1.73 cents) per k'llo (2.2 pounds), or 2114 centimes (4.34 cents) In eases In which the curds (Schotte) aro re turned to the producers. Tho price for milk for consumption has aiso recently neen increased and provision hns been made by the ofllclals to enable peo plo of limited means to obtain milk at re. duced prices. Tho ordinary milk for con sumption In Zurich now costs 33 centimes (d.37 cents) per liter (1.105 quarts), but until just recently il cost only 27 centimes 15.21 cents). The prlco of milk for people of limited means in this city Is still 27 centimes.
