LOOK 1" Baby June Dude pointed high up In the dry and sure enough I A great big some thing was whirring through tho air. It took but a mlnuto for Peter Duck and BabyaTune to run to .tho bottom of tho tree where their homo was located. Sitting nnd looking up first one and then the other houted: "Look! A sky bird Is coming." Father Duck had Just settled himself after breakfast In his Morris chair nnd was reading the Woodland News when ho heard the noise outside. Ho hurriedly looked nut the window and when ho saw his two chil dren pointing in the direction of tho sky he ran to the other window nnd looked up also. What ho saw astonished him. Never before had he heard such a nnlse. and besides, ho thought he was familiar with all the birds which fly In tho air. "Mother! Mother!" he shouted. "Thcro Is a motorboat high up In tho nlr. Come and see." Mother Duck was making bread and sho ran right Into the room whero her husband was and carried .the dough with her. "What on earth Is tho mattcr7" sho asked. "Look up In the sky," said Father Duck xcttedly. "I can't see wfthout my glasses," replied Mother Duck. But sho was so nervous she wiped her eyes with the bread dough and then looked. . Sure enough 1 There WAS something high up In the air and It was coming as fast as It could and SUCH a noise. "What Is It?" sho shouted down to the children. "It's a sky bird," shouted back Baby June. "Come up hero quickly!" she shouted ' again. Baby Jnno and Feter did as they were commanded. Soon all tho rest of the ducklings were In the home and nil craning their necks and trying to tell what tho gT0.1t big whirring thing was which moved o swiftly through tho nlr. In the meantime. Mister Jay Bird had caught Bight pf the swift-moving object and called to his wife. "What Is It?" asked Mrs. Jay Bird. "Come 1 Come !" "But I can't' leave, tho babies," shouted back Mrs. Jay Bird, as she cuddled her little ones all the closer. "You MUST come. Thcro Is a great big bird whirring In the air and you must como and see It. Bring along the babies with you." Mister Jay Bhrd was so excited at What ho saw that he jumped up nnd down In his eagerness to get a better view of the strange thing. It was not long before Mister Jay Bird, his wife and the babies woro as high In tho tree as they could get, and while Mrs. Jay Bird tried to make tho babies seo the huge thing In the sky she was not able to do so, This provoked her husband and she had to ajulet him with: "You must not expect little folks to ho aa wise as you. They are young nnd not Interested In everything yoji are. You nro too interested In yourself for your own ood." Just at that momentBIIly Bumpus came out of his home and when he heard tho noise he looked up In the sky and then suddenly darted Into his home, soon to re turn, dragging his wife behind ilm.
