Cfyll War Veteran Dies of Heart Dis
ease at Shenandoah
Di. Alexander Browns, of 6517 Glroxd
avenue, a veteran of the Civil War, died
' of heart disease Thursday night at Shcrt
tfid6ah, where ho was visiting. Doctor
Browne was 73 years Old. He was a son
of Alexander Browne, who at ono time was
Iteglster of Wills and a prominent Demo
1 crat Doctor Browne will be burled Tues
day. He waa born In 1843. Ho graduated In
tiharmacy and at the outbreak of the Civil
War entered the navy. He was gurneon
steward on board a war vessel for two years
and later left the vessel at New Orleans and
took up duty at a fever hospital there,
where ho remained until the end of the
