ABANDONS EATING HABIT Philadelphinn Quit With Cup of Cus tard 1G Days Ago. Food has lost Its attraction for Jacob Pfeffer, of 632C Walnut street. He Is en gaged In a 40-day fast, and already haa abstained from food for 15 days. He last Indulged In a cup custard. His meals since then have consisted of half a dozen glasses of water and a bottle of vlchy. Pfeifter, who Is at present In New York, sold he felt no 111 effects from his fasting. After the first three days, ho said, ono loses nil desire for food. He added that ho was going to fast until he became hungry. When nature cureB his Indiges tion, he stated, he. will again feel Hko dining, but until that time, he believes. It Is not necessary to eat. Pfelffer began his preparations for the fast on May 19, when ho began to cut down the quantity of his food. From May 15 to June 25 he lost 30 pounds. Since June 25 he has been losing about a pound a day. He spends 12 hours a day In bed, resting. During the remainder of tho day he walks and moves about without suffering ' any discomfort or feeling of fatigue.
