COPPER METAL HIOHER

Ieadinir producers and other largo han
dlers of copper, the market for tlio motat
shows propounced strength and no dim
oulty Is esperienced In securing H'i
cetits. the new level which is being asked.
The feature of the market this mornim;
wns the heavy demund for JCurope. Tho
inquiry fiom this (piarter uliparently re
mains unsatisfied. The foreign demand,
iu connection with heavy buying; on thla
side, and especially by makers of war
munitions, has resulted In advanclns the
price or the metal. This has also re
sulted In a material shrinkage in ac
cumulated stocks of copper here. JteportJ
aro in circulation that at least one of tin
leading sellers of the-metal has advanced
the price to 11'. cents. No confirmation
of this can bo obtained, however.'

An apparent decrease of ",4S.e41 as

due to the new rule that only net bal
