Heavy buying of fulled States Steel developed at tho openelng and thus stimulated purchases of Cam bria Steel which proved unexpectedly scarce. The result was a Jump of a point from last night's closing quotation. One hundred Rhnres opened nt 41!4. against : 435, and tho next snlo was a block of 834 nt 45. The board of directors met thin morning, and ngnln announced the qunrtcrly l1. per cent, dividend, payable In S por cent, scrip, redeemable In tw years. Thrco months ago similar action was taken. Houses with Pittsburgh cmi nccttons wero sellers of Cambria on tho rise. Tho buying was aid to be purely local. In declaring tho scrip dividend the di rectors took occasion to nnnotinco that tho earning on tho capital stock for the year 1014 were only 4.3(1 per cent., ngnlnst 13.S per cent. In 1913, but that owing to tho large surplus as well as to tho Improved outlook for business tho board maintained tho usual dividend rnte.
