The Secretary, A. Harris, Esq., then read the minuta of the last meet ing of the Association, which wore ap proved. The President, Mr. L. S. Heist, remarked that the corn crop in Lancaster county, this season, was better than at any time previous; Emanuel Shirk, of Warwick township, had shown him an ear of corn containing 25 rows, and upwards of 1,500 grains of corn. Seyeral other members of the Society concurred with Mr. It. respecting the great yield of corn in our county this season. Mr. 11. M. Mr. E. re marked with respect to the White Peach Blow Potatoe, that in Franklin county they sal regarded as a line potato°. The speak er stated that, as had already been remax k d, the corn crop was very fine, but that he wheat crop was not so good ; other methods of farming must be adopted to insure hereafter ghod wheat crops; form erly many farmers fed their stock with corn, so that important elements of the soil Were returned to it; hot now, corn is sold and shipped off, consequently these ele e,er Ls are conveyed away. Air. L. S. Heist remarked that he could hardly concur in this. '!'het attendance Ibr the past year, as shown by the Catalogue, was in the Normal School, 6r,4 students; and in the Model School, girls 46 and boys 70. The remarkable suc cess of this school is mainly due to its t wt . ! neipals, Prof J. P. Wickersham and its su essor, Prof. Edward Brooks. An addi tional building, 90 feet long, 40 feet wide and four stories high, has been completed during the past summer, the former build ing with an east front of 2.5 feet, and south front of 160, being found too small to ac commodate the large number of students applying for admission. The fall term of this institution has opened with a large number of students. The accommodations are more ample and better since the largo addition has been made to the buildings. DANGEROUS COTNIERFEIT.—There is a new and dangerous counterfeit $2 green back on the issue of the Sixth National Bank of Philadelphia. It is not very well executed and a little caution will at once discover its falsity. The clouds above the female on the left end have a scratchy up pearairm ; the shading under the words "National Union . Bank " is coarse and ir regular. The paper is of a blueish tint. The engraving on the beck is coarse. Better examine all bills of this denomination care fully, as the plate will undoubtedly bo al tered to other banks. The growth of Odd Fellowship in this country has been marvelous; on April :IBM, 1819, was instituted in the city of Baltimore the first Odd Fellows' Lodge in the United States, under the name and title of Wash ingtou Lodge, No. 1. The membership of the order now numbers thousands.
