Dear Brethren : At a meeting of the Philadelphia Sab bath-School Association, held in the Bev. Dr. Wadsworth’s church, February 17, 1862, it was unanimously resolved to hold a STATE SABBATH-SCHOOL CONVENTION IN THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 28, 1862, Commencing at 10 o’clock, A. M. IN THE “FIRST INDEPENDENT CHURCH,” BROAD STREET, BELOW CHESTNUT. The object of the Convention is 1q brief: First. To obtain an accnrate view and survey of the State in its Sabbath-school aspects. Second. To devise ways and means by which to impart increased vigor and efficiency to the Sabbath-schools; reach the destitutions, and increase the general interest. Each and all of yon are most earnestly and respectfully requested to co operate with ns in these objects, and we particularly request, 1. Tonr presence in the Convention at Philadelphia. Bring your pastor with you, if possible. 2. Gather ap and send ns by mall, without delay, all the well ascertained statistics bearing on this subject, and especially the condition and destitution of the schools in your town and county. 3. Fill the blanks In the annexed statistical table as nearly accnrate as possible, and forward it to ns by mail, with as little delay as practicable. 4. Appoint at least one delegate to represent your school iu the Convention, and report to ns by May 1.
