THE ELECTRO MAGNET LIGHTNING ROD has been before the public for twenty years; has been the means of saving a vast deal of property and many lives, and has never in a single instance failed to meet the high est expectations of its VAlne. Hnndreds of our own citi zens can testify from their own knowledge of its ability to protect property in safety; who have been eye witnesses where buildings public and private, churches and school bouses, have been saved from destruction—the rod receiv ing and carrying harmless to the ground,'strokes which but for them would have caused the total ruin of the building and all within it. The superiority of these rods over any others in nee, has been testified to by men who have no superiors in general science or in this department. Recommendations to the number of six thousand can be seen at the factory. The United States Patent Office is protected by my Rods, having been selected from all others iu nse as the best and most reliable. Considering the character and position of the men who have charge of that institution, no higher testimony could be desired. Persons residing at a distance should be on their guard agaiDst a class of swindlers who by false representations of every description, seek to mislead the purchaser. Where my agents are not personally known as such, the only safe plan is to apply, by letter or otherwise, at the Factory. .85“ Weather Vanes, Cardinal Points, Spire Rods, and all manner of SCROLL and FANCY IRON WORK, to soil all characters of Architecture, got up in the neatest and most durable manner at the lowest cost prices. Sworn statement of David M*Creary, of Napier town ship, Bedford county: In April, 1856, aa near as lain remember, a small pim ple made its appearance on my upper Up, which soon be came enlarged and sore. I-used poultices of sorrel, and a wash of bine vitriol, without effect Finding the sore ex tending, I called on. Dr. Ely, of Scbellsburg, who pro nounced ItCANCER, and prescribed a wash of sngar of -lead and bread poultices. Finding'these remedies of no avail, I called upon'Dr. Shaffer, of Davldsville, Somerset county, who also pronounced the disease Cancer, and gave me Internal and-external remedies —the latter consisting principally of caustic; but all to no purpose, as the dis ease continued spreading toward the nose. I next used a preparation of arsenic, in the form of salve. This for a time checked the disease, but the inflammation soon in creased. I next called'upon Dr. Statier, of St Olairsville, Bedford county, who also pronounced the disease Cancer, and applied a salve said to be a never-failing remedy, but it had no effect whatever in checking the spread of the sore. In December, of tfae same year, the disease had eaten away a greater part •of my upper Up, and had at tacked the nose. wbeu-I went to Cincinnati, where I con sulted Prof. R-S. Newton, of the Eclectic Medical College. He pronounced the disease *< a cutaneous Cancer, super induced by an inordinate use of mercury.” He applied mild zinc ointment, and gave me iaterual remedies. My face healed up, but the lnflammation was not thoroughly removed. In February, 1857, he pronounced me cured, and I left for home. In April the disease again returned, and so violent was the pain that I could not rest at njghtl ' Late ia May I returned to Cincinnati, and again placed myself under the charge of Dr. Newton, with whom I re mained until September, duringwblch time be used every known remedy, and partly succeeded In checking the dis ease, but when I returned home there were still three dis charging ulcers upon my face. I continued using New ton’s preparations, and also medicine that I got from Dr. Ely, but the Cancer continued growing until it had eat off the left tide of my nose, the greater portion of my left cheek, and had attacked my left eye. I had given np all hope of ever being cored, since Dr. Ely said be coaid only give relief, bat that a care was impossible. In March, 1858, I bought a bottle of *• Blood Searcher;” bnt I must confers that I had uo f.iitb Id it. I was very weak when 1 com menced taking it; but I found that 1 gained stn-mrib day by day. and also that the ulcers commenced drying up I continued, and when tfee third bottle was taken my face was healed as if by a miracle. I used a fourth bottle, and I have been healthier sin. * than I have been for the last seven yeans. APh-iugh my face is sadly disfigured, I am still grateful to a b-oiirn Providence who has spared my life, and which has been done through the instrumentality of Lindsey's Lmpeotxd Blood Searcher. ERY OF THE AGE.—Dr. Kennedy, of Roxbury, haa discovered, ia one of our nuniiH i] pasture woedu, a remedy that cures EVERY KIND OF HUMOR, from the worst Scrofula cfowu to a common pimple. 110 has tried It in over 1100 cases, and never foiled except In two casos, (both thunder humor.) Reader, I peddled over a thousand bottles of tiffs in the vicinity of Boston. I know the effect of it in every case.— So sure as water will extinguish firo, so sure will this cure humor. I novor 6old a bottle of it, bqt that sold another J after a trial it always speaks for Itself. There are two things about this herb that appear surprising; first, that it grows in our pastures, in some places quite plentiful, and yet its value has never been known until I discolored It in 1846—second, that it should core aU of numor. In order to give somo idea of th« .udaen rise, and grea t popularity of the dlimw, *"wfll state that In April, 1863, I peddled It Bold about six bottles per day—la April, IRSS, i sold over one thousand bottles per, day of It. Some of the wholesale Druggists wboUkve been in the business twenty and thirty years, say that nothing in the annals of patent medicines was ever like it There is a universal praise of ft from all quarters. In my own practice I always kept it strictly for humors —but since its introduction as a general family medicine, great and wonderful’virtues have been found in it that I never suspected. Several cases of epileptic fits—a disease which was always considered Incurable, have been cured by a few'bbttlds.— O, what a mercy if It prove effectual in all cases of that awful malady—there are but few who have seen more ofit than I hare. I know of several cases of Dropsy, all of them aged.peo* pie, cured by it. For the various diseases of the Liver, Sick Headache, Dyspepsia, Asthma, Fover and Ague, pMp Jn the side, Diseases of the Spine, and particularly In diseases of the Kidneys, Ac., the discovery has done njore good than any medicine ever known.
