Testimony pf the Professor of Obstetrics in Pen& College, Philadelphia:—Dr. Hunter's Medical Mart" ual.—The author of this work, unlike the majority of those who advertise to cure the disease of which it treats is a graduate of one of the best Colleges in the United Stetet. It affords me pleasure to re commend him to the unfortunate, or to the victim of malpractice, a■ a successful and experienced ' practitioner, in whose honor and integrity they may place the greatest confidence. Jos. S. LOSOBEIORE, M. D. From A. Woodward, M. D., of Pena. Universi ty, Philadelphia.—lt gives me pleasure to add my testimony to the professional ability of the Author of the "Medical Manual." Numerous cases of dis ease of the Genial Organs, some of them of long standing, have. came under my notice, in which his skill has been manifest in restoring to perfect health, in cases where the patient has been consid ered beyond medical aid. In the treatment of Sem inal weakness, or disarrangement of the functions produced by self-abuse, or excess of venery, I do not know his superior in the profession. I have been acquainted with the Author some thirty years, and deem it no more than justice to him as well at kindness to the unfortunate victim of early indis cretion, to recommend him as one in whose pro fessional skill and integrity they may Barely confide themselves. ALTRED WOODWARD, M. D. " This is without exception, the most compre hensive and intelligent work published on the class of diseases of which it treats. Avoiding all tech nical terms, it addresses itself to the reason of its readers. It is free from all objectionable matter, and no parent, however fastidious, can object to placing it into the hands of his sons. The author has devoted many years to the treatment of the various complaints treated of. and, with too little breath to puff, and too little presumption to im pose, be has offered t o the world, at the merely nominal price of 25 cents, the fruit of some twenty years' most successful practice."—Herald. "No teacher or parent should be without the knowledge imparted in this invaluable work. It would save years of pain, mortification and sorrow to the youth under their charge."--Peoples Advo cate. . . A Presbyterian clergyman in Ohio, writing of '' II unter , s Medical Manual" says:—" Thousands upon thousands of our youth, by evil example and influence of the passions, have been led into the habit of self-pollution, without realizing the sin and fearful consequences upon themselves and their posterity. The constitution of thousands who are raising families have been enfeebled, if not bro ken down, and they do not kcow the cause or the cure. Anything that can be done so to enlighten and influence the public mind as to check, and ul timately to remove this wide-spread source of hu man wretchedness, would confer the greatest bles sing next to the religion of Jesus Christ, on the present and coming generations. Durable and Protective Weather and Fire Proof. This Paint will stand any climate, without crack or blister hardens by exposure, thus makinglin time an enamel of stone, protecting wood from de cay, and Iron and other metals from rust and cor rosion. The Paint differs from the so-called .Mineral Paints of the day, which are princip..lly Ochres and Clays colored, and are entirely worthless. Silvers Plastic Paints are purely Metalic, con• taining no Alumin or Clay. They are levigated finely, mix readily with Lin seed Oil, (without the trouble of grinding.) and flow under the brush as freely as the best White Lead. These Paints excel all others in body or cover ing properties, one pound of'which will cover as much surface, as two pounds of White Lead. There are four natural colors, viz : Black or Slate, Blown, 011,e az..l Chocolate. Directions.—This Paint flows readily under the brush and its covering property is increased by using it mixed as thickly as possible with pure Lin seed Oil; as the Paint is the lasting or protecting body and the Oil simply the medium or agent in spreading it. Dear Sir: We have used your "Plastic Paints" Zor more than a year, and for Painting Bridges, Depots, &c., &c., we have found it quite equal to any paint we have used. In tact, we now give it a preference over all others we have, tried for such purposes. Yours Respectfully, (Signed,) JOHN TUCKER. President. Augusta, Ga., : , eptember 29, 1852.2 Steam Planing Mills. Dear Sir : You ask me for my opinion of 46 Sil vers Mineral Paints," which you have put on m Machine Shop and Planing Mill. I give you with pleasure my full and hearty recommendation of it as a preventive of Fire communicating from Chim neys, or from adjoining buildings. The Paint which you put on my roofs, has now become as hard as slate, and I feel as secure from Fire, in this direc tion, as is possible. A few weeks after the roofs had been painted, I made an experiment on two or three shingles by placing them in the furnace under the boilers; the result was, that the portion uncov ered was entirly consumed, while the painted part was apparently sound, though upon examination the wood was found to be charred; the Paint how ever was firm and but little blistered. I consider this as severe a test as your Paint can be put to, and under the circumstances I do not hesitate to commend it as an invaluable preventive against Fire. JOHN KUHL 8. oat 14 9m-89 Dr. !Morse's Inlrlgoratlng Cor dial.—A Phenomenon in Medicine. Health restored and Life lengthenled, by Dr. Morse. In vigorating Mixer or Cordial. For centuries Medi cal science has been ranee:king the vegetable and mineral kingdoms; in sea .ch for something that should-restore the losi,or secaying energies of the nervous and muscular systems, without the draw back of subsennent prostration, which all slim lanu, tonics, and narcotics lied heretofore entailed. That something hail been Found. It is a vegetable producuon, brought fro[ the sterile deserts - Arabia the stony, by the elebrated Professor M Morse well known as a tatingnished member o the leading scientific soci ties of the Old W otld and equally distinguished is a physician, a them Bit, and a traveller: The Juices of this herb, con centrated and combined with other vegetable se dicinal extracts, are now producing results hereto fore unheard of, in this, orl any other country. A first the properties attribut,ed to Prof. m orse's In vigorating Elixer or Ccirdial were deemed tabu lour. The public often deceivedcould not believe the simple and sublime truths announced by the discoverer. But facts, undeniable facts attested by witnesses of the highe+lass and character, are now triumphing over all doubts. Incredulity is overthrown, by a mass of testimony which is per fectly irresistible. 1 he Elixer remedies. in all cases, the deplorable evils arising from a misuse l or abuse of the variou organs which make up the 'wonderful machine cal led man. It restores to fifil vigor every delicate function connected with that mysterious compound agency of matter and rdirid, necessary to the re production of human lite. To persons of leeble muscular frame, or deficient in vital power, it i recommended as the only Means of commuieating that energy which is neceesary to the proper errs joyment of the natural appetites as van as the higher mental attributes. Its beneficial effeetsiare not confined to either sex or to any age. ,The fee ble girl, the ailing wife,}the listless, enervated youthi"the overwrorn man, of bueiness, the victim of nervous debility, or frbm the weakness of a single organ, willall findlimmediatt and perma neat relief from the use of, this incomparable reap ovator. To those who have a predisposition t. paralysis it will prove a complete and unfailing safeguard against that terrible malady. There art many, perhaps, who have So trifled with their cot; stitutions, that they think Itherimelves beyond the reach of medicine. Letlnot even these despair The Ellixer deals with disease as it exists, withou reference to cases, and will not only remove tht. disorder itself, but rebuild) the broken constitution. The derangements of the system, leading to ner vous diseases, and the lorpie of nervous disease. itselfare so numerous that. it would require a col umn to enumerate the Maladies for which this preparation is a specific] i A few, however, may be enumerated, viz: nenralgia, ftc dulereaux, headache, incipient paraly i sierhystoria palpitation of the heart, spinal atreFtxtins, mus cular tremors flatulence. a pricking sensation in the flesh numbness, torpidity of, the liver, mental de pression, weakness of the will, indisposition to move, faintness after °felcities, broken sleep and terrifying dreams, inability to remain in one place or position, weakness at (the procreative organs, sexual incompetency, melancholy, monomania, fluor al bus, sinking of tini stomach, female irregu larities, a chronic tendeitcy to miscarriage, ema ciation, and all complanits growing out or a free indulgence of the pasiione and all barrenness that does not proceed from organic causes. beyond the reach of medicine. 1 .. . Whenever the organs in be acted upon are free from malformation or stridtural dixeasea, it to aver red that Morse's invigorating Elixir will replace weakness with strength, incapacity with efficiency, irregularity with uniform and natural activity, anti this not only without hazard of reaction, but with a happy effect on the general organization. Bear in mind that .11 maladies, wherever they begin, finish with the nervous system, and that the paralization a :, i of the nerves motion and sent•ation i. physics death. Hear in mind , al 0, that for every kind u nervous disease the Elixey Cordial is the on]) reli ab e preparation known I CURE OF NERVOUS DISEASES.—No lan• guar convey an .adequatH idea of the immediate and almost miraculous change which it occasions il in the diseased, debilitat 'il and shattered nervous system, whether broken own by excess, weak by nature, or impaired by en knees, the unstrung and relaxed organization is at once braced. re-vivified and built up. The men, al and physical symptom of nervous disease vanish altogether under its Ha fluence. Nor in the effect 'temporary; on the contra ry, the relief is permanent, for the cordial proper ties of the medicine read') the constitution itself, and restore to its nominal ;condition. Well may the preparation be called the medicinal wonder of the nineteenth century. l !t is, as the first scientific man in the world would have admitted, that mira cia.of medicine heretofore h uppoeed to have no ex igence. I A STIMULANT T114.1' ENTAILS NO RE ACTION.—Its force is never expanded, as is the case with opium, alcoholic preparations, and all other excitants. The effect of these is irief, and it may well be said of hiM who taken them, " that the last state of that mad is worse than the first.' But the Elixer is an exhilerani without a single drawback—safe in its operaiion, perpetual in its happy influence upon the nerd s,ihe mind, and the entire organization; it will also remove depression,' excitement, a tendency to blush, sleeplessness, dislike of society, incapticity for study or business. LOSS OF MEMORY; Confusion, giddiness, rush of blood to the Ileac], melancholy, mental debility, hysteria, wretchedness,. thoughts of sel fdestruction tear of insanity, hypeclidndriasis, dyspepsia, gen eral prostration, irritability, nervousness, inability so sleep, diseases incident to females, ijecay of the propogating Inactions, hysteria, montimania;vague terrors, palpitation Of thy: heart, impotency, con stipation, etc., etc., from whatever cause arising it is, if there is any reliance to be placed on hu man testimony, absolutctly infallible. ' A GREAT MEDICINt: FOR FEMALES.—The unparallelled effects of his great restorative,in all complaiuts incident to Females, mark a new era in the annals of medicate. Thousands of atimu lents have been invented --thousands of invigorants concocted—all purporting to be specified in the. various diseases and derangements to which the delicate formation of w6man render her liable.— The result ban heretofore been uniform. These nostrums have indeed imparted a momentary vi vacity to the nervou• system, a transient and delu sive vigor to th,l muscles; but this flash of relief has been succeeded by a depression and prostration greater than before, and the end has too often been utterly to paralyze the ciecuperative power of the nerves, and the vital organization, and finally to destroy the unhappy patient. Every . woman o sense, who suffers froth weakness, derangement, nervousness, tremors pains in he back, or any other disorderovhetheri peculiar to her sex, u common in both sexes— T to give the Invigoratin Cordial a trial. MARRIED PERSON S, or others, will find this Cordial after they have used a bottle or two, a thorough regenerator o the system. In all direc tions are to be found t 4 happy parents of healthy offspring, who would net have been so, but for this (extraordinary preparation. And it is equally pu eat for the many disease for which it is recom mended. Thousands cd young Men have been re stored by using it, and not in a single instance has it failed to benefit theni. PERSONS OF PALE COMPLEXION, or con sutnptive habits are restored by the use of a bottle or two bloom and vigor, changing the skin foam a. pale, yellow sickly color, to a beautiful florid com plexion low. 'r TO THE MlSGUlDED.—These'are some of the sad and melancholy effects produced by early hab its of youth, viz: weakness of the back and limbs, pains in the head, dimness of sight, loss of muscu• tar power, palpitation of the heart, dyspepsia, ner vous irritability, derangement of the digestivefunc dons, general debility,l symptoms of consumption, Mentally, the fearful effects on 4 the mind are much to be dreaded. toss of memory, confusion of ideas, depression of spirits, evil lorebodings, aversion to society, self-distrust, love of solitude, timidity, Etc. are some o f the evils produced. Al: than afflicted before co templatingmarriage should reflect that a sound mind and body are the most necessary requisites td promote connubial happi ness: indeed, without! these the journey through life becomes a weary pilgrimage the prospect hour , ly darkens the view; the mind becomes shadowed with despair, and filled with the melancholy reflec ' tion that the happiness of another is blighted with your own. PARENTS AND IGUARDIANI are often misled with respect to the causes an sources of diseases' in their sons and wards. How often do they ascribe to other causes of wastings of the frame, idiocy, madness, palpitation of the heart, indigestion, derangeMent of the nervous system, cough and symptoms indicating consumption, when the truth is, that they I have been indulging in a pernicious though alluring practice, destructive both to mind and body. .
