At this time (now about two months) I beard your book highly spoken of. as containing some matters reaching my case. I will state my situation when I obtained your hook through the merest curiosity 1 look upon 'it as one of the most fortunate events of my life. 1 had been married some ten years, and was the father of seven children. I was loug straggling auceasingly, to the end that 1 might gain a moderate competency, hut the results of my utmost exertions at the end.left me nbout where I was nt the beginning of each year; nnd that only, with the most stinted economy, Biiffi eing with barely the necessaries of life.
