They have absolutely become the standard Medicine ol the day. They are purely vegetable and so admi rably compounded that when taken in large doses they speedily cure acute diseases, and when taken in small doses they operate like a charm, upon the most delicate, nervous female, and have raised numbers from their bedp when all other remedies had Jailed. We here rofer to but a few of the many miraculous cures effected by the use of said Pills. Spinal Affection. —Anna Wood, of Rutland, Jefferson county, N. Y., was cured, after she had been confined to bed 5 years, with Spinal disease and Abscess of the Lungs. The bill of her regular Physician (Dr. Johnson, of Clay,) had amounted to $6OO. See circular. Scbofula and Nehvous Debility.— Mrs. Down, of Clay, N. Y., was cured of Dyspepsia, Nervous Debility, and Scrofulous affection of the head, after she had been confined six months and all other medicines had failed. Cough and Consumption Cubed. —Wm. Bently, of Pickering, C. W., was cured of a severe cough after he had been confined to his bed for a long time, and was given up by the Physicians. He had used most ol the cough medicines of the day, and was supposed by his friends and physicians to be in the last stage of Consumption. Dyspepsia. —A. B. F. Ormsby, of Syracuse, N. Y., was cured of Dyspepsia, so severe as not to be work for two years. Wm. Smith, of Greenwich, Conn., was cured of a severe case of Dyspepsia, Costiveness and Nervous Debility, of years standing, after expending large Bums of money to no purpose. See circular. Extract of a Letter from a Gentleman in Dayton, O. , “ Dayton, May 1, 1847. ** * Dr. A. M. Madricead —My Dear Sir: ‘The Married Woman's Private Medical Companion,’ for which I enclosed one doHar to your address, came safely to hand. I would not have troubled you with these few lines, but that I am impelled by a sense of gratitude, for myself and wife, to give utterance to our sincere and heartfelt emotions. “ My wife has been perceptibly sinking for some three years or more, in consequence of her great an guish and suffering some months before and during confinement; every successive one more and more debilitated and prostrated her, putting her life in im minent danger, and which was, on the last occasion, despaired of I supposed that this state of things was inevitable, and resigned myself to meet the worst. At this time (now about two months) I beard your book highly spoken of. as containing some matters reaching my case. On its receipt and perusal, I can uot express to you the relief it afforded my distressed mind aud the joy its pages imparted to my wife, on j learning that the great discovery of M. M. Deso* meaux provided a remedy. It opened a prospect to me which I little conceived was possible. No pecu niary consideration can ever repay the obligations I am uuder to you for having been the means of im parting to us the matters contained in ‘ The Married Woman's, Private Medical Companion.’ But for this, ere another year would have passed over my head, in all human probability my wife would have been in her grave, and my children left motherless. Extract from a tetter. Competence and Health. “Lancaster, Pa., Oct. 24, 1847. “My Dear Sir : I know you will have the kind ness to bear with me in encroaching upon your time, while I acknowledge (in behalf of myself and wife) the obligations we feel ourselves under to you in hav ing made known certain matters, contained in your most invaluable * Married Woman’s Private Medical Companion.' It has been worth its weight in gold to me. If I express myself rather warmly, you will see that I can not do so too warmly, when I inform you of the extent to which I have, through it, been: benefited. I will 6tatc my situation when I obtained your book through the merest curiosity I look upon it as one of the most fortunate events of my life. I had been married some ten years, and was the father of seven children. I was lon£ straggling Unceasingly, to the end that I might gain a moderate competency, but tbe results of my utmost exertions at. the end left' me about where I was at the beginning of each year; and that only, with the most stinted economy, suffi cing with barely the necessaries of life. Finally, this constant effort was beginning to have its effect upon my health: I felt less capable to endure its contrnu*. ance, while I felt the necessity of perseverance. “ This constant, unceasing struggle on my part was imperative, in consequence of the prostrated condi tion of my wife (with occasional intermission) for six years, much of the time confined to her bed, and of course incapable of taking the charge and manage ment of household affairs. Her condition arose from causes of which I was ignorant. Oh! what would I have given had I the six years to live over again ! What would my wife have given to have been spared the long days and still longer nights prostrate on a bed of sickness! all of which would have been avoided, had 1 then seen a copy of ‘ The Married | Woman's Private Medical. Companion."’ j From a Physician. DANGEROUS DELIVERIES, OBSTRUCTIONS, IRREGULARITIES, &C. How many are suffering from obstruction or irreg ularities peculiar to the female system, which'nn dermine their health, the effects of which they are ignorant, and for which their delicacy forbids seeking 1 medical advice! How many suffer from prolapsus uteri (falling of the womb), or from fluor-alous (weak ness, debility, Ac., Ac ) 1 How many are in constant s agony for many months preceding confinement !^How 1 many have difficult if not dangerous deliveries, and | whose lives are jeoparded daring such time, will find in its pages die means of prevention, amelioration, > \ and relief! * Extract from a Letter. To those just Married.—“ Had I knowa!” ‘‘Philadelphia, Nov. 29, 1847. « Dr. A. M. Mauriceau : Had I known of the im portant matters treated of in ‘ The Married Woman’s Private Medical Companion’ some years ago. how much misery I might hav6 escaped ! I have suffered years from causes which you point out in your book, without knowing what to do. I obtained a copy, and found my case treated of. I tmst every female will avail herself of the information contained in its-pages.” Letters are daily received'of this character, unne cessary to present. To those yet unmarried, bnt contemplating mar riage, or perhaps hesitating as to the propriety of incurring the responsibilities attendant upon it, the importance of being possessed of the revelations con tained in these pages, so intimately involving their future happiness, can not be appreciated. It is, of course, impracticable to convey more fully the various subjects treated of, as they are of a na ture strictly intended for the married, or those con templating marriage; neither is it necessaiy, since it is every one’s doty to become possessed of knowl edge whereby the sufferings to which a wife, a moth er, or a sister, may be subject, can be obviated. This differs from that, because this possesses several other Medications which are peailiarly adapted to, and are essential ly necessary, to cure Coughs and Consumptions, and all diseases of a tmlmonary nature—such' diseases as usuaily'prove so frf, under ordinary treatment, when they attack the Breast, Throat, Langs, and Heart. We state this cure to prove the potcer to gave life, when rhis BALSAM is used, even after the person is considered by physician and friends to be in the Cast stages of disease —actually dying—and, in this case, so far gone that tho shroud and burial-clothes were bought. For the particulars nf this case, and the respectable and undoubted proof of all die circumstances and facts, we refer to our PAMPHLETS This cure was effected on Mra?ZIRA DYKEMAN. of Rail - ton Spa . Yes, tho desired result and efficacy will be produced by the use of a smaller quantity of this Purifier than can be effected by the use of n like quantity of any other remedy in the world. (See our Pamphlets for proof.) This Purifier is wholly prepared from Vegetables, and cures the worst, most obstinate, and long-standing diseases of the blood, vrixhouV puking, purging, s<ckming, or debili tating. It cleanses, strengthens, invigorates, makes new, healthy blood, and gives new vigor and new life to the whole system. BRANT’S PURIFIER U FOUR- TIMES CHEAPER than any other remedy in the world, because ONE POLLAR'S WORTH of it will effect a greater amount of cure than four dollars' worth of sarsaparilla, or any other remedy, no matter how large their bottles may be. The important question for con sumers to determine, is, how much more curative effect will a dollar's worth of this Purifier produce, than a dollar's worth of that sarsaparilla or other remedy. We might here eay, that Brant's Medicines had cured, within the last' year, , 100,000 Persons of Impure Blood Diseases, and SO,OOO Cases were considered Incurable as some other patent-medicine men are in the habit of say ing;V If we should say so, who would believe us 1 Tmi however, we do say, and stand ready to prove by respectable witnesses, that Brant’s Medicines have effected cures of more diseases on living human beings, the past year, than any other remedy in existence did during the same time. How mucli will a Dollar’s worth CURE P Twenty large, deep Ulcers were cured by using only twelve bottles of Brant's Purifier. The following is the most wonderful and astonishing cure » that was ever effected on a human being, by any medicine. Horrid Scrofhla Cored. Mr. J. B. Uaskin, of Rome, Oneida Co., N. Y., certifies, December 20th, 1846, that he had been afflicted with Scro fula four years, and the last year confined to his bed, with twenty large, deep, discharging Ulcers— that his neck was eaten around from ear to ear—a hole was eaten through his Wind-pipe, so that he breathed through the hole—hiß ear was nearly destroyed—the use of his arm was wholly destroyed—and an Ulcer under the arm, as large as a man's hand, had nearly eaten through into his he had used all kinds of Sarsaparilla and other medicines, to no benefit, and that he was not expected to live twenty-four hours when he commenced Brant's Indian Purifying Extract— that nine bottles of the Purifying Extract healed and cured seventeen of the twenty Ulcers he had when he commenced nsing it, and that a few bottles more effected a perfect cure. For full particulars of this, and many other similar cures, see our Pamphlets. This Wonderful and Astonishing CUBE does not stand alone as a monument of the great efficacy of Brant’s Purifier, for we could give almost unlim ited evidence of other cures, well attested, if tills were doubted. This cure is certified to by Fourteen Respectable Witnesses. By Doct. Thos. Williams, one of the most respectable physicians of Rome—by Messrs. Bissbll St, Lxona&d, wholesale and retail druggists—by Mr. G. R, Brown, pro* prietor and keeper of the West Rosts Hotel—and by eleven other witnesses. Brant’s Indian Purifier cures all impure diseases of the blood, viz.: Scald-Head, Salt-Rheum, Rheumatism, Eruptions, Pimples on, the Foes, Piles, Biles, Ulcers, Costiveness, Mercurial Diseases, Liver Complaint, Pains in the Back, Side, and Limbs\ Rush ef t Blood to the Head. r*tc.. etc. INTERNAL ULCERS. This cure is a triumph over the skill of the best physicians in the city of Philadelphia, and is positive proof internal ulcers can be cured as easily as external, when sßsant’s Purifying Extract is used. Mr John Hepburn, one of the most respectable gentlemen inMuAum, Cayuga Co n N. Y., informed us in Obt J 847, that he bad been af dieted with three Fissunss or Uloebs, eo situated inter nally as to allow of an examination, and thus furnish posi tive proof of the fact, and of t&eir location. He said that ho had spent one year in Philadelphia, under theprafeselonaJ advice of the best physicians,-and was obliged to return tc Auburn, without cure or help, when Dr. T. M. Hunt, drugget, of Aubora, advised him to try Brant's purifying Extract, and the use of seven bottles of it effected a perfect cure. CHRONIC ERYSIPELAS AND ULCERS. Astonishing and most wonderful CVRZ.—Capt..Bsra Knapp, of No. 37 Willow et, Brooklyn. N. Y., one *df the most respectable citizens in the city, was afflicted five yean with Scrofulous Erysipelas of both legs, from the knees to the feet, whit# inflamed and swelled to a prodigious size, and ulcerated. Large deep ulcers, apparently large enough to run a finger in, came into them, which discharged daily an almost incredible quantity of a maturated substance. He had had the advice and attendance of several of the most skilful physicians, and had tried many highly recom mended medicines without effecting a cure, and was told by one or two of his physicians that the ulcers in his legs would run him off before long. Brant's PURIFYING EXTRACT has cured these ulcerated and inflamed legs, so that now they are entirely healed up, and he enjoys good health. "DYSPEPSIA —SOUR STOMACH CURED. Attica. Genesee Co., N. I could not eat any fat or greasy substance without causing great pain, sickness, and vomiting, and was continually afflicted with a .Sour Stomach. When Brant’s Medicines came, I, as an experiment, tried one bottle, which to my utter disap pointment, eased and relieved the usual pain after eating. I therefore used the second bottle, which has completely cured the disease. lam now well and hearty, and can eat almost anything without being pained, or the stomach becoming soar.
