The scrofulous patient, covered with ulcers loathsome to himself and his attendants, has been made whole. Hundreds of persons, who hqd groaned hopeless ly for years under cutaneous and glandular disor ders, chronic rheumatism, and many other cunt', plaints springing from a derangement of the secre tive organs and the circulation, have been raised as it were from the rack of disease, and now, with regenerated constitutions, gladly testify to the effi cacy of this inestimable preparation. “ TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN FICTION.” The attention of the reader is tailed 10 the fol lowing asionishu.g cu.*e, effected by the use of Sands’ Sarsaparilla. This is to certify that I have a colored woman who has been afflicted for the last five years with Scrofula, and all the remedies I used had no effect tn arresting the progress of the complaint ; on the contrary, she constantly grew'worse; and after expending between S7O and $BO with physicians, besides using other popular remedies without suc cess, until the disease had eaten away the carti lage of her nose, made its appearance on various parts of her body, and had finally commenced its ravages in the roof of her mouth. In thL dreadful situation, with the prospect ol death staring her in the face, I stated her case to Dr. Disosway, the agent for Sands’ Sarsaparilla in Newburn, N. C., by whom l was advised to use that article; and to my surprise and that of my neighbors,* to whom her case was known, after using four and a half bottles she was restored to perfect health, and that in the space of three weeks, and was able to work in two weeks from the time site commenced using it. In witness to the truth of this statement, I have hereunto affixed my name, this 19th day of Seoi., 1847. JOSEPH McCOTTER, J. P. Mouth of the Neuse River, Craven co., N. C. The following is an extract from a letter received from Mrs. Bevan, who has been afflicted several years with Scrofulous Ulcers, Dyspepsia, &c. t and recently an affection of the throat and chest : - Baileysburg, Va., Dec. 13,184f>. Messrs. A.B. &, I). Sands: Before I commen ced using your Sarsaparilla, my sufferings were almost past expression ; my throat was completely ulcerated, I had a dreadful cough, and there were frequently weeks together, that I could not speak above a whisper; and besides, the inflammation from my throat extended to my head, so that my hearing was very much impaired. Alter taking the Sarsaparilla a short time, my health improved, and iny throat is now well; lam as Iree from cough v and tightness of the chest as ever I was, and can hear quite distinctly. My throat has been well about three months, the cure of which has been effected entirely by the use of your Sarsapa rilla. Your friend, LOUISA R. BEVAN. The following testimonial to the value of the Sarsaparilla, is from the Rev. Luther Wright, aged 76 years, Congregational Minister, residing at Woburn. Woburn, Mass., March 30th, 1846. ffressrs. Sands: Gentlemen —From whailhave experienced, and from the information I have re cently received trotn a number of persons ot high respectability who have used your Sarsaparilla, I have not the least doubt but that it is a most valua ble medicine, and that the numerous cerificates you have received of its efficacy are tully sustained by experience, and although its repuiaiian ana util ity are very extensive, and stand iu no need ol my humble efforts to increase them, I want all who are afflicted by disease to become acquainted with the efficacy and power of your valuable medicine. June 4 18 Valuable Lands in Prince William County, Virginia, for Sale. THE subscribers are authorized to sell a tract of land, lying in Prince William County, Virginia, containing over TWO THOUSAND ACRES It is bounded in part by the Potomac and Chopa wamsie creek, upon which it presents a water front of about one and three quarter miles, and the upper part of the tract is but a short distance from Quan tico creek. About six hundred acres are CLEARED LAND, well adapted to agriculture, and the residue is in wood, of which it is estimated there are from 65 to 70,000* cords, mostly of oak and pine, to which the facilities.of water carriage add great value. The buildings consist of seven or eight LOG HOUSES, such as are common to that part of the country. The land is abundantly watered with fine springs, and it is supposed to be especially adapted to the rais ing of early fruits and vegetables ; and as two steam boats pass the place daily, and sailing vessels con stantly, these productions may be profitably and speedily sent to market. There are strong indications of an abundance of hematile IRON ORE, samples of which have been analysed and found to yield 48 per cent, of metal. Indications of other metals have been found in the neighborhood, and may be present also here. On that part of the tract bounding on the river there exists a most VALUABLE FISHERY, equal to any in that neighborhood, and during the winter the river and creeks abound with canvass back ducks, and other wild fowl, for which the Potomac is so justly celebrated. This tract of land presents a rare opportunity/or a combination of several families who desire to provide homes at a small cost, and at the same time the opportunity of becoming surely prosperous. THE uniform success which has attended the use of this preparation—its salutary effect—its pow er to relieve and cure affections of the Lungs, have gained for it a celebrity equalled by no other med icine. We offer it to the afflicted with entire con fidence in its virtues, and the full! belief that it will subdue and remove the severest attacks of disease upon the throat and Lungs. These results,as they become publicly known, very naturally attract the attention of medical men and philantropists every where. What is their opinion of CHERRY PEC TORAL may be seen in the following: VALENTINE MOTT, M. D., Prof. Surgery Med. College , New York , says.— “ R gives me pleasure to certify the value and efficacy of Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral, which I consider peculiarly adapted to cure diseases of the Throat and Lungs.” THE RT. REV. LORD BISHOP FIELD writes in a letter to his friend, who was fast sinking under an affection of the Lungs:—“ Try the Cher ry Pectoral, and if any medicine can give you relief, with the blessing of God that will.” CHIEF JUSTICE--EUSTIS, of Louisiana, writes “ That a young, daughter of his was cured of several severe attacks of Croup by the Cherry Pectoral.” Hartford, Jan. 26, 1848. Dr. J. C. Ayer—Dear Sir r—Having been rescued from a painful and dangerous.disease by your med icine, gratitude prompts me-to send you this ac knowledgment, not only in justice to you, but for the information of others in like affliction. A slight cold upon the lungs, neglected at first, became so severe that spitting of blood, a violent cough and profuse night sweats followed and fas tened upon me. I became emaciated, could not sleep, was distressed by my cough, and a pain through my chest, and in short had all the alarming symptoms of quick consumption. No medicine seemed atall to reach my case, untill providentially tried your Cherry Pectoral, which so'fl relieved and now has cured me. • Youra with respect, E. STEWART. . Albany, N.
