Fergusen, of Little Britain, was driving with his wife and two children en a visit te hla father-in-law, he bad a frightful runaway. His horse, a young one, became fractious and en pulling him up the bit broke, and immediately the horse dashed away. Mr. Fergusen sprang from the carriage te try te atop him, but was thrown te the ground, and the horse went en at the top of his speed with his wife and two children in the carriage. The horse made a turn at one corner et the read, but in turn ing at another corner he ran against the fence, tearing off two wheels from the car riage, but still dashed en. At tbe residence of Wm. Hart, Jacob Shade, of Oaksbsde, saw him coming and Just had time te spring into the read when he came up. He sprang for his head and succeeded in getting a firm grip en his nose, and though Jerked from his feet snd carried some distance, he held en manfully and dually succeeded In throw ing the horae and rescuing Mrs. Fergusen and children from their perilous position.
