The Virginia Markets. The tobacco statistics of the cities of Dan ville and Lynchburg, Va., for the year ended September 30exhlbit an enormous trade in the weed. In Danville the sales et leaf tobacco in the eleven public warehouses ag gregated ever 40,000,000 pounds, at an aver age of 9.11 per hundred pounds. In addi tion, mere than 3,000,000 pounds changed hands outside of the warehouses; se that at least 54,000,000 was paid out for the leaf in Danville during the year. In Lynchburg the sales aggregated nearly 50,000,000 pounds, with perhaps a slightly lower aterage. It will thus be seen that in the tire cities at lenst ?,000,000 was paid for the leaf during the year. The great bulk of this was raised In the twenty or twenty-live counties tributary te these cities. The figures show a large In crease ever all previous years.
