The men state that they Joined the . union nt the request et Mr. l'eml ricn se that his factory could start en March 1st as a strictly union shop. The first week the Union labels were fur nished for the cigars at the same prices as the men received betere they joined the union, but as union labels could net be furnished unless union prices were paid the men were compelled te act accordingly, and they were Informed by the organizer et the union, that this order must be carried out. The men state that their expenses for running the shop aa a union shop, aggregate between three and four hundred dollars per year which is divided among the twenty men employed. The advance asked for by the men Is only in accordance with the laws of the order. It is also necessary te discriminate between the grades and lengths of cigars new made and receives an increase in price for making the same. The expense for Joining the union .had greatly increased the wages of the men, and It is necessary for them te carry out the union rules te the letter. The men state that they have no desire te strike, and this Is no strike but a lock-out. Teitii Notes.
