The president has directed tbe suspen ion of se much of the order reorganizing the internal revenue districts as changed the existing system in New Jersey. When the order was issued there were three collection districts in the state and the number was reduced by the reorganization te two by consolidating the old Third and the old Fifth districts. Culver Barcalow, collector of the old Third district, was designated as collector of the consolidated district. The present action allows the state three districts and continues Rebert B. Hawthorne as collector of the Fifth district. The local election in Annapolis, Mary land, yesterday, resulted in the choice el Dr. Claude, Democrat, for mayor by 50 majority. The Democrats also elected their candidate for city counseller by 47 majority. Ofceuncilmen elected, three were Democrats and two Republicans, there being one tie. As it was the first time for many years that the Democrats carried Annapolis, they indulged in a torchlight parade at night. Colonel G. W. Reebliug yesterday re signed the position of chief engineer of the East river bridge, at New Yerk, and was appointed consulting engineer, with out salary. His chief assistant, Mr. Martin, was appointed engineer and su perintendent ei the bridge. It is stated that the total amount of money received for the building of the bridge up te tbe first of this month was $14,999,350, and the expenditures were $14,941,538. Secretary Lincelu left Washington en Sunday evening for New Yerk te be absent for several days i'estmaster General Gresham left Washington yesterday for New Yerk. Commedore Themas S. Mazzoni, a German who lives at 818 Vine street, Philadelphia, where her Italian husband keeps a fruit store, attempted te commit suicide Monday morning by hanging herself with a strip of 6beeting te a nail in tbe wall. Her husband arose about six o'clock, leaving her in bed, and weut down stairs te open the store. About an hour later he called te her te get up and two wemen, who live in the same house, went te her room te tell her that her husband wanted her. She was net discovered in her bed room, where her two children were sleeping, but going te an adjoining apartment they found her hanging. Her feet were resting upon the fleer and tbe body was limp and bent. She was immediately cut down. She was insensible. A physician was sent for. When he arrived he restored her te consciousness and last night it was believed she would recover. Mrs. Mazzo ni is 30 years of age. About a month age one of her children died and her grief is said te have rendered her demented and desperate at times. It is te this condition of mind that Iho attempt en her life is ascribed. Themas Davis, an English steward en the steamship Lord Gough, whose home is in Liverpool, attempted suicide en Sun day night en beard the steamer. He was taken te the Pennsylvania hospital, where he told the physicians he had been poi poi Bened with arsenic by some one en beard the ship.
