Indian creek, which runs this city, overflowed and seven iron bridges and two culverts were swept away, also several dwellings and barns. Several lives are reported te have been lest. Particulars are difficult te obtain. The water is waist deep in the streets one block from the creek. The flood rose se quickly that many men found it impossible te reach their wives and children, and a number narrowly escaped drowning while endeavoring te gain their homes. Themas Caffrey, tbe fourth of the Phajnix park murderers brought te the gallows, was hanged iu Eilmainham jail at 8 o'clock this morning During a farewell interview with his mother yesterday Caffrey breke down completely. The crowd eutside the prison this morning was very small, numbering only about fifty persons. Among these were the mother and brother of the prisoner and a woman who has been pres ent at all the executions of the men con victed of the murder of Lord Frederick Cavendish and Mr. Burke and prayed for the condemned men. Caffrey was com posed when en the scaffold. His dtfath was instantaneous. Te Hit mother. Caffrey wrote a letter te his mother last evening, in which he said : "I hepa ycu will never have causa te lilu.'h for my name. As I am paying the penalty of my crime in this world, I hope I won't have te suffer for it in the next."
