The late time of its opening gave satisfaction te all and the best thing that council can de at its approaching special session is te change the time of opening te the former hour ! again. ! Seventy pounds of butter were cenfis. cated and sold at auction by the market master this morning becau-e the weight of me reiis into which it had been termeci did cot weigh as much as it was alleged they did. Filbert at his home en Walnut street last evening? Dancing and music were special features of the occasion, and elegant refreshments did net serve te diminish the pleasure of the merry guests. The table looked very handsome with its tasteful decorations. If fair weather prevails te night the concert for the benefit of the Shech library will be largely attended, ever 300 tickets having already been sold. Tae"OrpUeaus'' held a highly satisfactory rehearsal last evening. Te-night the Shawnee the company will held a ball in the armory. Frem present indications it will be a large affair.
