Two MMttm Ublldran Destroyed la a Tens BMBt at Jeamnowa. About six o'clock Friday morning fire broke oat in a Cambria iron company's tenement, the First ward, Johnstown, Pa. The building wat occupied by four fami lies, among them that of Hiram Berkebile. In a few minutes the tenement, together with a single dwelling and one of the com pany's stables, were enveloped in flames and, notwithstanding the united efforts of fire fire companies, were soon reduced to ashes. At the time of the fire Mrs. Berk ebile and her five children were asleep. The husband was at work. The mother saved herself and baby by jumping from the upper portico. The two oldest chil dren, a boy of thirteen and a girl ol ten years, also succeeded in escaping, bnt dur ing the excitement the other two children little Willie and Sarah, aged respectively four and seven years, were overlooked until too late. When the debris was cleared away the bodies of the little ones were louna in tne ceiiar, ouinea raw a crisp. All tbe furniture was destroyed. The stable was opened in time to save the live-stock, some forty-eight horses and mules. All the buildings belonged to the Cambria iron company. Their estimate of damages is $5,000 ; fully insured.
