The first thing, of course, is te get the right silk; but what we have in mina relates te tne lining as well. We have three sorts of black silk at $i (it isn't worth while te put much money in a sum mer black silk, you knew) two are American gres-grain, and the third is Lyens cachemire. They are different ; of different value really ; but, as you will cheese them by color, we needn't say anything about value one is blue-black, another medium, the ether jet. The poorest of the three is well worth i The best waist lining: is of black pongee silk ; for it is strong and durable, and cooler than any ether lining that is enough. strong New foulards, 45 cents ; wide, 24-inch ; of simple figures, dots and rings; colors and black-and-white. Next-outer circle, south entrance te main building. Black grenadines should net be bought new, without being sure you have the very latest news. And it doesn't much mat ter what the news is elsewhere, se long as the grenadines are mostly here. We are in a peculiar fix. We get ready for a great trade in grenadines. We bought largely of the best grenadines in the world ; and summer, coming without any spring, has short ened our selling time te such an extent that we have get te lese money en these splendid, splen did grenadines. We are selling te-day, at $i, striped, dotted and damasse, all- silk grenadines that should have brought$2 ferevery yard. These are net the very best; butnearly. Next-outer circle south entrance te main building. Black lace-bunting news is dif ferent. The difficulty is te keep prices down, and get the goods. We have done it se far. Nobody else is selling them se low as we ; and may be we can't long. Schepper's half-Tvoel.singlowidth, I2l cents, Scheppcr's all-wool, single-width, 25 rents, Schepper's half wool, double-width. 25 cents, Schepper's all-wool, double-width, 60 cents, French all-wool, double-width, 50 cents. Lupin's all-wool, denble-wldtb, 73 cents. and ethers between. Next-outer circle, south entrance te main building. Black Spanish laces have just been refreshed by the addition of enough new ones te make a stock of themselves. The trade in them new is almost equal te that in all ether laces together ; and they nearly fill a counter. Second circle, southwest from centra. A thousand mere hemstitch and embroidered cellars have come; newpatternsamengthem. Linen cellars embroidered with a metallic thread that leeks ex actly like geld. We guarantee them te retain the geld leek after washing we guarantee ; but we don't knew whether they will or net. These have been laundered and show no sign of tarnish. Why shouldn't they bear wash ing a dozen times, if once ? If they don't wash well, bring them back ; and we'll return them te the maker, and thank you for the information. But tee many words. First circle, southeast trem centre. Evening colors in fine wool and silk-and-wool constitute se large and rich a stock here as te cause surprise every day. Net only is the variety of such goods very large, but Ave have been fortunate almost all the time se far since winter in having some of the favorite sorts below value. Perhaps we hardly ought te mention again Lupin's 60-cent albatross at 37 cents ; though we have a litde of it left. There are two or three ethers below value new. Next-outer circle. Thirteenth-street entrance. Blue cloth for country, sea and traveling, 54-inch, 90 cents, $1 and $1.25. Check and stripe linens at 25 cents are thought well of. Thirteenth street entrance.
