Mr. McGovern was a native of Ireland, but came te this country years age. He was a contractor and had work cd ei many railroads in this slate. He has been living in retirement for years past. II was in the 70th year of his age at the time of his death. Besides a wife, he leaves a family of children, two of whom are Mrs. Michael Keilly aud Mts. Jehn II. McGovern.
