LANCASTER DAILY l&TKLLIGENCEft. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25. 1881. ILanrasin l-ttriltscncer. FBIDAY EVENING. NOV. 25, 1881. KcmenilierlDg His Benefactor. One lay last summer L. W. Cahall, a well-to-tle resident of New Yerk, saw iu a St. Leuis uar.er an item tellinff of the ac cidental death of a man named "Warren, wIiasc former borne was near Rubsellville, Ark. The item referred te Warren as " a peer man with several children. "' Mr. Cahall thought fiem a similarity in name that the deceased might have been a Lang Sync frieud, once wealthy, who had given him his start in life at Memphis. He ad. dressed a letter te the coroner in the case and his supposition proved te he ceirect. Frem his correspondent Mr. Cahall learned that Warren left three grand children unprevided for. He took the next train for St. Leuis aud Fert emith. At this point of his destination he found the children living upon the charity of a neighbor. He brought them te New Yerk with him and has placed them in schools there. "Warren had embarked his fortune in the Confederate cause and had been peer since the war. Death of Rudelph Itial. Rudelph Rial, the popular orchestra leader, has died of Blight's discaacat his residence in New Yeik. He had recently received llattcring effeis from San Fran Fran cisce, Cincinnati and ether cities. He aNe seemed tlie bet vices of seveial famous soloists, such as August Wilhelmji and Mamicc Dcngremeut. Heic he wielded the baton until 1S80, when he became temperaiy conductor at tup Thalia thcatic. He or er !rani, icd the eichcstia thcie aud did some capital work dining the fust Gcistiugcr season .
