A TVr el Words Between the DepnV. ;or ;er ;or ener and Coert Reporter, Caused by the Coming Comet. Theic was a terrible excitement in the corridor of the court-beuse late yesterday afternoon, caused by au altercation be tween the deputy coroner and the court reporter. It appears that the deputy cor oner was talking te a well-known notary nnt.1., n mifterc nf rrreat importance te themselves, but of no especial interest te the public, when the court reporter and the Honorable court, who were walking in opposite directions met also in the cor ridor, the quartet occupying the position described iu the following engraving : " Tim court. The notary. X Dep. coroner. Court reporter. The court reporter halted the court and began a learned haraugue en matters of law, instructing the court, for all we knew, en tome nice points of law te be made in its forthcoming "opinions" aud "de cisions." Be this as it may the reporter spoke se loud, se long and with se strong an English accent that the voice of the deputy coroner was completely drowned. This " annoyed the deputy coroner te such au extent that finally los ing his temper he said te the notary, "There is no use of our trying te talk here as long as that English blather skite keeps bawling."' The court repot ter gave the deputy coroner a leek of wither ing contempt, and in lefty majesty replied " Hi was haddrcssing the court, hand net han habeminable loafer like you." The deputy coroner quick as lightning re torted, "Yeu bang -banged rotten old English soikef a bull-terrier, yen blank blanked old hypocrite, you carry a hymn book under your arm when you go te church and then "go home and lick your wife, you doubly dashed posterity of ca- e parentage. W by there h nothing of man about you except tlie plug hat you have en your head. Ge home, you condemnations! old Britisher te the coun try that spawned you." " Yeu loafer hand vugabenes " lelerlcd the court reporter, "you hidiet hand lunatic, you 'a vent get hand never :ad a country, her parentage heilhcr, you were spawned hupeu the heceau. Ilif you give me hauy mere hef your himpudence hi'll punch your 'cad, you hasterisk desceudeut hef a mongrel cur." We have neither time nor type in which te reproduce the expletives hurled at each ether by the coroner and the reporter. The oaths were miracles of swear-words, four stories high, topped with mansard reefs, and having balconies of blasphemy miming all around each story of the struc ture. Blue blazes shot along the corridors of the ceuit house, lighting up the faces of the staitlcd county efheers and clerks with the light of gehenna. The court steed petrified, a crowd of nearly ene hundred spcetateis gathered, and the coroner in chief, always awake te business and ex pecting te have a double inquest te held, took down in short-hand the names of fifty-nine witnesses. The belligerents dared each ether te fight, the court reporter wishing te light it out iu the presence of the court, and the deputy coroner insisting en settling the matter outside. Moving out' of the back deer of the corridor he jumped the fence iu front of Mart Urich's saloon and dared the reporter te fellow him. The latter appears te have net heaid the challenge, for he remained en the back steps of the court house yelling like Pythias, " Ceward, coward, damned treacherous coward," and hurling many far mere cxprcssitc expletives after the re tiring but net retreating deputy. The cud is net yet. Te-day there are miners that an early meeting will take place between the two officials, and it is confidently asserted that the reporter whose fighting weight is 81) pounds has placed himself in training under Clayt. Myers, and that the deputy coroner who weighs 01, is taking lessens in the noble art under the careful eye of Kahl Snyder. Sheriff's Sales. Dr. Davis, of Millers villc rendered medical aid, aud she is to day lying in a precarious condition, suffer ing the intense pain. Mrs. Martin Manning, of the same place and near Mr. llershey's farm, had an accident of like character and of equally as serious a nature. She, tee, went te pick cherries from a very high tree ; had left the ladder aud weut far out upon a limb ; it broke and she fell a distance of ever thirty feet. The principal bone of her left leg was split, aud the same limb was broken below the knee ; her spine was- wrenched aud she received several cuts and bruises. -She was picked up in sensible and taken te the house, where Dr. Davis attended her.
