.1 LANCASTER DAILY INTELLIGENCER, MONDAY, MARCH 7. 1881. Haneaster l-ntclltgcncer. MONDAY EVENING, MABCH 7, 1881. Tlic Tobacco Market. Seel Leaf and Haviia rer the Week Ending Saturday, March 5, 10 a. in. United States Tobacco Journal. While everything iu our maiket regard ing the '80 crops is as yet theorywitbeut practice, everything regarding the '79 crops is practice, with ue theory at all about it. The latter crop continues te be brought up at figures that are staggering when the pi ices of the cigars that are te be made out of it are taken into considera tion. Te some of the large manufacturers in this city, the present state of the leaf market is proving au opportunity for meney-m:iki!ir. They bought in a low market much in excess of their actual yearly needs, anticipating that the '80 crop would be a bad one. Whether their ideas regarding its condition have changed or the present high market is tee fceduc tive, is immaterial. The fact remains that I hey are quietly unloading their sur plus stock, evidently realizing mere profit out of it by this process than by manufac turing it into cigars Fine wrappcis of the '79 cieps will sure ly remain iu great demand during the year, h respective of the leeks and quality of the '80 crop. If the maiket continues brisk line wrappers will seen become scarce. Substitutes will then have te be sought. As substitutes we name princi pally Sumatia wrappers, which of late have met with se much favor among the manufacturers of line cigars. The yield of this stock is se much in excess of that of line seed wiapirs, that the difl'ercuce in price is trilling. The '80 crops as being brought up new with increased avidity. The damp weather permitting better inspection, facilitates purchasing ; these who have se far in vested in them piaise their purchases high ly. They always de at this time of year. These who have packed '80 Connecticut and New Yerk state treat with contempt the beasts of these who have packed Pennsylvania, Ohie and Wisconsin. They pronounce the praises of the latter pre posterous and liriiculnns. When the time comes :i decided and disinterested opinion wili be uivcu, as heretofore, by the Vnttul States Tobacco Journal. As we go te press a sale of a packing of '80 state seed is reported. The parties te the transaction de net object of seeing their names published. Therefore the re port ought te be true. Sales last week were as fellows : Pennsylvania Crep '79 : 1500 cases ; of these ever 800 were of low description ; the price is reported as between 10 and 11 cent; line running lets are quoted at 23 te 23i cents ; fillers, 7 te 8 cents. Connecticut. Crep '79 ; number of cases uncertain : computed at 230 ; no particulais. State. Crep '79 : 100 cases fine run ning Ills Flats, 21 cents. Crep "80 ; 250 cases, private terms. Havana. The activity of the previous week continues. Sales run up te 1)00 bales. City manufacturers bought spirit edly, but. in small quantities. '79 stock continues the main article. Slayuiaker, Agent for Reigart's Old Wiue Stere, by a prominent practising physi cian et this county, who lias extensively used the Brandy referred te in his regular practice. It is commended te the attention of these af flicted with Indigestion and Dyspepsia. BRANDY AS A MEDICINE. This new much abused A leohelie Stimulant was never intended as a beverage, but te be used as a medicine of great potency iu the cure of some of the destructive diseases which sweep away their annual thousands of victims. With a purely philanthropic motive we pre sent te the favorable notice et invalid- espe cially these afflicted with that miicrable dis ease Dyspepsia, a specific remedy, which i3 nothing mere or less than Brandy. The aged, with lceblc appetite mid mere or less debility, will tlntl this simple medicine, when used properly, A Sovereign Remedy or all their ills anil aches. Be it, however strictly understood that we prescribe and u.-e but one article, and that is REIGABTS OLD BRANDY, Sold by our enterprising young trtend, II E SLAYMAKER. This Brandy has steed the test for years, ami lias never failed, its l'ur as our experience extends, and w tlu-rcfnte give it the preference ever all ether Brandies nematter with hew many jaw-breaking French titles they are branded. One-fourth of the money that is yearly thrown away en various impotent dyspepsia specified would sulliee ti buy all the Brandy te euro any such case or cases. In proof of the curative powers el Reigart's Old Brandy, In cases of Dyspepsia, we can summon num bers of witnesses one case in particular we cite: A hard-working farmer hail been nlllicted witli an exhaustive Dyspepsia ler a number el years; his stomach would reject almost every kind of feed; he had sour eructatiens con stantly ue appetite in fact, he was obliged te restrict his diet te crackers and stale bread, and as a beverage he used McGrann's Reet Beer. He is a Methodist, and then, as new, S reached at times, and in Ids discourses often eelaimed earnestly against all kinds of strong drink. When advised te try Reigart's Old Brandy, lu his case, hu looked up witli astonishment, but after hearing el its wenderlif! cilccts in the cases of some of Irts near acquaintances, he at last consented te fellow our advice. He used the Brandy faithfully ami steadily; the llrst bottle giving him uu appetite, ami hcterc the second was taken he wits a round man.with u stemaeh capable of digesting anything which hejehese te eat. He still keens it and nes:i lit tle occasionally; ami since lie has this medi cine he has been of very' little pecuniary bene lit te the doctor. A Pbactisihu Puysiciam. II. E.
