The Proposed State of New Virginia. The proposed State of New Virginia, has a -uperticial area equal to that of Maryland nid Delaware together, and includes thirty- Tree counties. Their aggregate popula tion i> -70,900 whites and 0,000 slaves, vhicli indicates that the manifest destiny t the new Commonwealth would be that fa free State. If carried into operation, die new State will not lack the elements of inherent wealth and prosperity. It is a -r.lciidid grain growing region ; it abounds in extensive forests of gigantic trees of val uable timber; it embraces the rich Kana wha cnnut'l coal fields, coal oil wells and -alt works; it is stored with iron and other minerals; its water powers fur driving mills of ail kinds are unlimited ; it is crossed by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad; it in cludes the commercial and manufacturing city of Wheeling, arid is bounded for two hundred miles on the northwest by the Ohio river. It is, in a word, a fertile re _i.>ll of mountains, covyted with great for -ts, table lands, hills and valleys, and -parkling rivers, capable of sustaining a •j illation of several millions and one of mo healthiest regions in the world. As :i;e ball, too, lias been putin motion, we liet that it will not stop until New Yir . :tii is a fixed fact, and a new centre of migration, enterprise and development as .iii-hiiig to ()ld Virginia.
