K DOUBLE ELOPEMENT— FatIu r and Son 0,1 same train.—Esquire Marchant was called ou to unite in wed lock. at the Burnet House, a couple who M fled froru Fayette county, Ky. At the Spencer House another couple—the m;i !e somewhat advanced and the bride hut eighteen —were also anxious to unite themselves for life. The proper authority was summoned, and they were accomiuoda te j. The strangest part of-the affair is this : the bridegroom at the IJurnet and the bridegroom at the Spencer were son and father. Both had eloped from the same vicinity, with the same intent; neither knew the purpose of the other, and both came on the same train. When the young uiiii learned the facts, the IJurnet House repaired to the Spencer, and it is said a most glorious time ensued. — (Jen. Times. A Man Murtfi red for Abusing the Pope. —A difficulty, growing out of a religious controversy, occurred recently at the St. Louis and Hellville coal mines, resulting in the death of a man named John Harrison. Harrison, who had professed Episcopalian - ism, without provocation began talking at Campbell, and very vulgarly said, ' to hell with the Pope and Poperywhereupon Campbell drew one of his revolvers and shot Harrison in the right side of the neck, and drawing his other revolver, presented it at the bystanders, and retreated by the back door, threatening to shoot the first man who should dare to follow in pursuit. The murderer had not, at last accounts, been arrested. £.•&?* 1 lie war between the Spaniards and the Moors appears to be carried out in the spirit of extermination. MAN \ attempts have been made to produce a Coilee Pot capable of condensing and retaining the aroma and strength of the Coffee ordinarily wasted by evaporation, and yet be simple enough to come within the limits of or dinary comprehension. Hitherto this desirable end has been very imperfectly attained, and by means difficult to explain and understand. THE OLD EMPIRE COFFEE POT has none of those faults; on the contrary it is so arranged as to condense perfectly, and there by retain all the rich fragrance and strength of the Coffee, giving a most delicious beverage at a quarter less expense, and yet is so perfectly simple that it is actually impossible to make any mistake. A child can comprehend the whole thing perfectly. All who have used this Coffee Pot are delighted with its great simplicity and excellence. For sale at the Tin and Stove Store of J. B. SELHELMER.
