Many of these features j are patent- d and cannot be embodied in any other ma chine, and all will admit how essential and iudispei sable they are to a complete combined machine. With each machine will he 'tiriiished two scythes, two extra guards, '2 extra sections, 1 extra pinion & wrem h I have made an extensive sale of mat hiues for the pre. - j ecVhnrvest, and given my personal attention to their op- t eratiou in all parts of the -State during the whole harvest 1 time, and their success h is b-,;n unbounded and complete, j In order that there will He no disappointment about ex- ! tras, | w ill ship by railroad this winter full supplies t > ! each Agent, thereby saving overcharged expressape, as ! is the case in waiting until harvest tune before sending them. The machine is warranted capable of cutting from ten to fifteen acres of grass or grain per day. REPORT. To the Farmers of Centre county the undersigned Judges, appointed as übove, respectfully report: That Hie Mcl'oruiick machine of 1&5"2 performed in grass only—of !B')3in grain only. Al! the other machines' per formed both in grass and grain. One end of the field was a heavy crop of timothy and clover; the other end was a heavy crop of clover, most of which tiad fallen to the south east. Each machine made three rounds. The Mi Cormick machine, attended hy the driver and a man to clear the machine, performed well and made good work on the north-west and east, but made long stubbie and clogged occasionally on that part of the south side covered with clover only, cutting in the same direction in which the clover had fallen. The Manny machine with Wood's Improvement, artrn ded by the driver alone , made good work on the three sides and better work on the south ide than any machine on the ground, and did not clog. The Ilusiey machine, attended by a driver and a raker, did mowing well. The Kam machine, in a great measure, fjiled; the com mittee think principally from want of a sufficient motion in the sickle. To prevent delay the Mi Cormick machine of 1855 had i been fitted up for reaping in the wheat field, to which the other machines, on being changed to Reapers, were im mediately transferred. The McConnick Reaper here again led off. The committee were much pleased with the operation of the machine, * a /iea/ier. The Manny mac hine, with Wood's Improvement, per formed well, i try ire'/, both machines removing the sheaf sutficiently to the right to allow the horses to pass with out us being removed. The Ilussey did good work, but left the sheaf upon the track, requiring its removal prior to the entry of the next machine. The Kam machine again failed, probably owing to the great haste in which it was put together, it having been tin- last machine brought upon the ground. Tire committee take pleasure in announcing Ihe Mc- Connick Improved Machine the best lieaper; the Manny machine, with Wood's Improvement the best Meicer; the Manny machine, with Wood's Improvement, the best Combined Machine for mowing and reaping, and therefore best adapted for lUfe use of the farming community gen erally; and the llussey machine a useful implement, both as Mower and Reaper, yet in their judgment, excelled both hy the Manny and MrCormick machines. The committee take litis opportunity to express their gratification at the very large attendance of the farming community, and at the deep interest manifested by them 1 in the, exhibition All of which is most respectfully submitted. James Garden, John T. Thompson, W. A. Davidson, , Judges. James Glenn, Wm. Baird, J The undersigned. Agent for this county, is now receiving orders.
